Ashland Addison is a family owned and operated company established in 1932 at the corner of Ashland and Addison in Chicago. The foundation was set when our grandfather S. Roy Sheffield worked carting flowers to the market for local flower growers who paid him with flowers instead of cash. He then made bouquets and sold them for ten to twenty five cents at the corner of Ashland and Addison, a busy street cart intersection.
Roy retired and sold the business to his sons Bill and John in January of 1964. Bill and John focused on delivering fresh flowers to friends and clients. They were recognized for exceptional customer service and product value. Their efforts paid off and the business grew.
In 1996 the third generation Bill Jr and Chris expanded the business in cyberspace. They purchased an 11,500 square foot building in the west loop as a base to their Design Center. They established shops in the Lakeview neighborhood, Elk Grove Village, Prentice Women's Hospital of Northwestern Memorial and Brennan Pavillion at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, as well as a location in Westchester.
The Sheffield family welcomes their fourth generation Justin Sheffield. With an engineering background, he brings innovative concepts to continue the quality and service started in 1932. Aside from his leadership qualities, he offers the company technical support.
Ashland Addison Florist Company is recognized for quality flowers and design, an amazing selection of plants, delicious gourmet gifts, and event styling services.
