Festive Cozumel Wedding

Inspired by the cool blue tones of the ocean and the vibrant pink bougainvillea plants of the island, Rachel Burt of As You Wish Events and Cesar Diaz of Bella Flora of Dallas designed this event to play off of both the serenity and playfulness of Cozumel, Mexico. For the welcome dinner, As You Wish Events incorporated traditional yet colorful elements like papel picado flags, striped Mexican blankets and earthy wooden chairs. Local breakdancers and fire dancers performed as guests sipped on gigantic margaritas.

As the wedding weekend continued, guests were welcomed to the ceremony with pina coladas served in coconuts. The floral arch in the ceremony captured the essence of the island perfectly, complete with flowing white drapery and a canopy of white, blue and pink toned floral mixed with tropical greenery. At cocktail hour, a mariachi band livened up the crowd as guests mingled by the pool. The reception boasted sparkly white linens, white Chivari chairs and simple centerpieces all flooded by blue moving lighting to create an ocean-esque ambiance throughout the space.

'70s Glam Beach Club Wedding

Warm and inviting, chic and residential, this beautiful beach wedding from Kristin Banta Events gathered inspiration from late 70’s Vogue and the French Riviera. Servers greeted arriving guests at the Jonathan Beach Club with tray-passed frosty beverages before they walked out to the sand deck to take their seats amongst French bistro style chairs on the sand. A string trio played contemporary arrangements as they awaited the ceremony in view of the Santa Monica Mountains and crashing waves. The couple was married under a tailored natural tweed chuppah, draped at the four corners with rich cappuccino dupioni and woven braid tie backs, the aisle entrance adorned with tall floral arrangements in shapely vases.

Following the ceremony, guests were invited into the cocktail area, a canopied deck featuring a custom bar with a natural linen front and wooden top along with a back bar unit crafted from warm wooden shelving and a rose fabric backing housing florals and candles. Guest’s table assignments were posted on a curtain of large capiz-shell tiles against a delicate blush drape. Next, everyone was welcomed into the ballroom where they entered a scene that was completely transformed into a warm, intimate, residentially inspired space.

Romantic Cabo Wedding

Photo courtesy of Meggie Francisco Events

Megan Sherrod and Jeremy Anderson were married at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, a gorgeous all-inclusive property in the Pedregal area of Cabo San Lucas. With crashing waves and dramatic rock formations, this resort was the perfect location for a simple, carefree and beautiful destination wedding. Planned by Meggie Francisco Events, the ceremony took place on the Cabo beach directly behind the resort. Because the resort is built into the side of a mountain, there is a large, dramatic stone staircase that led the bride to the ceremony. From the pale ocean-blue linens from La Tavola to the marble candleholders at the reception to the floating chiffon hanging from the ceremony arch, every element was designed to create a calm and clean look, allowing the gorgeous beach location to speak for itself.

Located on the lower level of the sky pool with expansive views of Cabo’s desert-like terrain and swelling waves, the cocktail hour set the tone for the rest of the evening. The reception tables surrounded a dynamic light-up dance floor. To add a feeling of intimacy, paper lanterns were strung above the center of the reception. At the end of the evening, the couple and their guest sent paper lanterns off into the night sky.

Intimate Beach Wedding

Located at the Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas, “Blue romance” was the theme for Lamerial and Finley’s wedding, drawing on the brides’ wish for a small, intimate and beach-inspired celebration. The couple exchanged vows with their toes in the soft Caribbean sand, under a bamboo arch draped in white chiffon and accented with blue Dendrobium orchids, white spray roses, blue hydrangeas and Ruscus leaves to complement the dramatic blues of the Caribbean Sea. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a signature blue cocktail that was topped with an edible floating blue orchid.

The reception took place under the beach gazebo, a stone’s throw from the lapping ocean waves. The gazebo entrance was lined with flickering lights of tiki torches and glass cylinders of various heights, filled with floating orchids and pillar candles. Acrylic Chiavari chairs, white Capri linens, glass beaded chargers and custom printed menus greeted guests as they arrived at the gazebo for dinner and when dinner was underway and the sun began to set, blue light radiated from the gazebo. The evening concluded with a moonlight bonfire under the open Caribbean Sky.

Sue Kelson Events executed this beautiful wedding, which was held on a peninsula located at the edge of the Pacific. The bride’s color palate was all white with pops of shimmery golds. At the end of the aisle, a gorgeous altar fashioned with driftwood and filled with white garden roses awaited the bride. The bridesmaids wore matching Jovani white gowns, and the bride was stunning in her Galia Lahav gown.

The cocktail party and dinner was on Virador Beach. The theme of all-white came alive where the white dinner tables were filled with flowers from end to end. Vases of pure white lilies, roses and orchids adorned the tables, along with succulents and shimmery gold candles. The place settings were laid with gold rimmed chargers a piece of driftwood scripted in white lettering for the place cards. Beautiful Tropical Wedding

Photo courtesy of That First Moment

The bride envisioned a beautiful and romantic beach wedding. Given the gorgeous venue, this would be an easy task, but the challenge arose in keeping the event private for her intimate celebration when the restaurant was open to the public.

Tropical Occasions designed a lighting installation assembled by Cabo Luna Event Rentals that included fans of twinkle lights overhead, and vertical strands hanging down behind flowy white curtains. Not only did this create privacy for the wedding reception, it also provided a stunning backdrop for the bride and groom. The magnificent Banyan tree was the focal point of the ceremony. Macramé accents with ivory and pink floral added color and whimsy to the clean white of the Chiavari chairs. The handsome locally made Guanacaste wood tables from Los Primos Designs were adorned with breezy white chiffon runners, soft flower-filled glass vases and gold details. The design primarily was created using roses, freesia, lisanthus, snapdragon, dendrobium orchids mixed with lambs ear, eucalyptus, baby fern and citrus leaf.
