Thomas Bui Lifestyle designed this wedding at a cruise ship terminal, a stunning 25,000 sq. ft. space with an empty canvas and extremely high ceilings. Floral designer extraordinaire, Nisie’s Enchanted Florist, covered this industrial fan with greenery and dripping Wisteria in shades of white and pale pink. From the cocktail reception overlooking the water to the champagne chandelier, no details were missing at this romantic event, it was stunning from start to finish.

Kristin Banta Events created an herb-embellished garden ceremony with peaked timber chuppah, followed by a lavish cocktail party with a Nashville twist, inspired by the groom’s love for Country & Western. The festivities culminated with a ballroom reception adorned with collected residential decor and a dramatic oversized bar, all surrounding a central pergola hung with a mass of lanterns and vines leaving guests with the perfect place to dance the night away.

Overhead Garden of White Roses

Birch Design Studio and Kehoe Designs collaborated to produce this jaw dropping reception at The Peninsula Chicago. Thousands of white roses were suspended from the ceiling, creating a growing garden overhead and filling the room with the most magical aroma.  Among the roses were six crystal chandeliers and the band’s backdrop was made of white azalea flower panels inset on a floor-to-ceiling garden lattice adorned with greenery and white roses, adding a romantic element to the dancefloor. The result was absolutely breathtaking and left partygoers in awe.

Hovering Navy Silk Draping

Inspired by mogul design, 16th and 17th century Indian Royal Palace and clothing, HMR Designs and Drish Preet created this regal Field Museum wedding.  Luxe navys, blues, velvets and custom embroidered linens with brocade napkins, gold detailing set the background to lush floral plethoras adorned as tassels from Indian brass candelabras, large floral kaleeras (jewelry tassels) hung from 10’ free standing hooks, and the piece de resistance was a melange of custom perforated brass chandeliers and crystal chandeliers hovering over the dance floor. The stunning and unique decor created a glamorous and dramatic focal point for this summer Chicago wedding.

Suspended Roses and Crystals

Held at Chicago’s Venue Six10, this vibrant wedding was the perfect combination of the couple’s contemporary and romantic vision. Frank Event Design created an experience that their guests will never forget. They used an eclectic mix of contemporary and traditional elements to detail this amazing wedding. Because guests could look down from cocktails to dinner, Frank Event Design, HMR Designs and MDR Creative built a portico at dinner to mask the balcony that looked down. Hanging from the ceiling was hundreds of ribbons that had roses and crystals suspending from each one to create this spectacular scene.

Playful Paper Lanterns and Piñatas

To accentuate the soaring ceiling of Chez, Kehoe Designs hung a festive collection of paper lanterns and large-scale fringed piñatas in bold pops of tangerine, fuchsia, yellow and fiery red. Below, a clean-lined palette of white banquettes, lacquered tables and sleek ottomans were infused with doses of eye-catching color that winked at the ceiling canopy above. Towering palmetto leaves were hand-painted with Mexican-inspired graffiti and acted as a brilliant backdrop while connecting the color story from the lounge to the ceiling.

Illuminated Crystal Coated Chandelier

Chicago’s renowned event planner, Birch Design Studio, designed this stunning tented wedding at the Millennium Park Rooftop Terrace. They first draped the entire ceiling in a pale white chiffon to soften the tent and then had a custom-made chandelier (designed just for this bride!)  that was made from hundreds of branches and covered with clusters of crystal “berries” – it almost looked as if they had been frosted in ice. These branches were bound together to create one large focal piece which was suspended from the apex of the drapery.  Throughout the night, the chandelier was lit and the whole ceiling’s color was constantly changing to transform the mood from romantic and candle-lit, to electric purple and icy cool blue.  The whole tent environment changed as the lighting shifted the mood.

Soaring Indigo Paper Cranes

Celebrating the couple’s individuality, Kristin Banta Events produced a stunning ceremony and reception adorned with art installation-styled decor that juxtaposed positive and negative space with black and white and a unique presentation of indigo. The ceremony aisle was peppered with bright indigo-knotted wood that led to a mass of Edison bulbs at the altar. One long acrylic dining table showcased hi-gloss black antlers as centerpieces under a gradiation of bare bulbs, and the reception space featured an elaborate art installation of five thousand paper indigo cranes hanging overhead.
