Fashion designer Ralph Lauren said, “I don’t design clothes, I design dreams.” These party hosts took fashion as their inspiration and spun dreams of their own — in the form of stunning celebrations with on-brand details influenced by their favorite fashion houses. We are awed by the creativity of the event planners, floral and décor teams, entertainers, and more that spun these trendy visions, allowing guests to interact with — and enjoy — high style.
We all know that showing up at a party right on time is passé. When you show up fashionably late, you get to make an entrance. This Coco Chanel Sweet 16 celebration made it easy for guests by providing them with a wow-worthy entrance into Miami’s uber-cool The Temple House. Domino Arts Photography captured the scene as models stood in formation ready to greet party-goers who entered into a Chanel “store.” Bambini Soiree curated perfect design details to add to the realism of the storefront, including a window display and convincing signage.

Fashion shows are exciting because of the wow moments when a model hits the runway in something truly unique. We think these dreamy spaces offer guests that same delight upon entering — especially when they realize that they get to spend the evening surrounded by such chic design. We love how Allure Events Atelier created elegance at this Chanel-Inspired Wedding by bringing the designer’s classic pink and black hues to the gorgeous, architecturally-rich Vibiana in Los Angeles. And it doesn’t get more immersive than this Tiffany-Inspired Birthday Celebration, which made guests feel as if they were inside an iconic blue Tiffany box. TK Event Studio draped the scene in blue, adding touches of gold and coral (hello, Pantone Color of 2019).

Well thought-out lounge spaces give guests a place to connect and make memories. The planning and design teams for these soirées infused fashionable detail into beautiful on-theme gathering spots. We’ve got two such events from the same planning, design and floral, and photography team. At the first, Sara Renee Events assembled gorgeous curving banquettes for a Lilly Pulitzer-Inspired Bat Mitzvah, as captured by LuvRox Photography. The brand’s style is evident in the preppy pillow prints as well as in the classic pink and green florals from Always Florals & Events at the Boca Raton event. From the other end of the fashion spectrum — and the same team — comes this “Off-White”-Inspired Bar Mitzvah, which evokes the luxury streetwear house through clever signage mimicking the iconic brand at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami.
Lastly, this Tiffany-Themed Birthday Celebration from TK Event Studio, brings us gorgeous detail in the classic blue hue, further extending the glamorous theming. All Occasions Party Rentals provided mirrored tables made even more special with the addition of the birthday girl’s name in Tiffany’s recognizable style.

Place cards offer an opportunity to connect with each guest. Making it easy for your friends and family to find their seats is imperative, but why not also make it perfectly on-brand? At this Fashion Design Bat Mitzvah, guests located their names on colorful spools of thread directing them to their tables at the Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in New Jersey. The spools sat within a tableau that paid homage to the Bat Mitzvah girl’s passion for fashion, with scraps of fabric, color swatches, and, of course, a sewing machine. For yet another trend-loving teen, Soiree LA Event Design curated a place card display that name-checked not only guests, but also major fashion brands at a Fashion Forward Bat Mitzvah. Friends and family found their tables marked by swanky icons for Dolce and Gabbana, Chanel, Valentino, and more, at Temple Judea in Los Angeles.

Fashion is nothing if not entertaining. Good designers — both fashion and event — know that the right combination of music and spectacle will create an experience that people will remember. So it makes perfect sense that this Lilly Pulitzer-Inspired Bat Mitzvah would bring beautiful drama with live performers embodying the brand’s bright and colorful aesthetic. E2 Concepts provided the soirée with butterfly dancers and life-sized “florals.” Meanwhile, a Fashion Show Bat Mitzvah at the elegant The Crystal Plaza in Livingston, New Jersey, stayed true to its name, providing guests with a sensational treat in the form of a live catwalk exhibition. Guests crowded both sides of the runway and eagerly snapped pics of the fun entertainment.

Dance floors are the setting for scene-making activity and, if done well, an extension of an event’s theme. We adore how these custom dance floors make the most of their décor opportunity by creating oversized homages to the brands that influenced them. At the Lilly Pulitzer-Inspired Bat Mitzvah, planner Sara Renee Events used gold stripes to express both the preppiness and glamour of the brand. For the planner’s “Off-White”-Inspired Bar Mitzvah, she emblazoned the dance floor with its title, as inspired by Virgil Abloh’s luxury Italian fashion house, which often labels its clothing line in the same way.

The devil is in the detail — and so is opportunity. For memorable events, every little detail is an opportunity to extend a gorgeous theme to delight and surprise guests. Think branded paper goods, pillows, and even food. We are wowed by how the planners at Monica Pardo Events worked with the décor team at Bambini Soiree to ensure that every moment of this Breakfast at Tiffany’s Birthday Soirée was filled with Holly Golightly-approved glamour. From jewel-and-crinoline studded chair wraps to ivory florals from Gilded Group Decor in Tiffany box-styled vases topped by the actress’s iconic crown, every little detail was divine.

Thoughtful seating means not only considering who your guests share a table with, but also what the scene surrounding them. Welcome guests to their party “home” by curating a lovely spot at the table for them. We love how Allure Events Atelier utilized Chanel’s soft pink and striking black palette to conjure beautiful place settings — restrained in detail, but not in style — at this Chanel-Inspired Wedding. Luxe Linen napkins featured striking scalloped edges, while florals from Celio’s Design added interest with varied blush shades — all set against chic white tables and chairs from Revelry Event Designers. Embodying another fashion label, a Bold Kate Spade Shower from A Perfect Event, mixed modern femininity with bold graphics at this Chicago celebration. We love how the mix of patterns — varied-width stripes and polka dots — create visual interest. Roots of Life Photography captured fun details like the wooden calligraphy place cards (that guests got to take home) and the pops of green within the lush red and pink blooms.
Fashion labels express their brand with labels. We’re so accustomed to seeing their iconic fonts that it doesn’t even matter what they’re spelling out — we just know the brand. These stylish events made on-point use of our collective knowledge, creating custom logos inspired by top fashion houses. The Red “Si-Preme” Bar Mitzvah went for a play on words for teen host Simon, combining the beginning of his name with that of the red-hot Supreme brand, then mimicking their internationally-recognizable style at the Rochelle L. Baker-planned celebration. Kehoe Designs decked out the Venue West Chicago space with modern red uplighting and linens to coordinate with the striking signage. Another event inspired by Supreme also included Nike branding at this Nike ID Club Party Bar Mitzvah from Chris Weinberg Events in Miami. The planner worked with Gilded Group Decor to incorporate both brands into the décor — with Supreme “Alec” signage and displays of stylized Nike Sneakers. As an added bonus (and likely a conversation starter for months to come), guests also got to design their own custom Nike sneakers.
When it comes to labels, the Tom Ford connected monogram “TF” is a classic. Anthony Taccetta Event Design worked with planner Cindy Gerber to create a dark, steely vibe at this stylish Tom Ford Bar Mitzvah. We love the way the team personalized the traditional TF logo, with a connected “HK” symbolizing the Bar Mitzvah teen at the Alpine Country Club event in New York City. Meanwhile, The Temple House in Miami played host to a Coco Chanel Sweet 16 that went for straightforward shine, crafting a photo spot from the quintessential CC logo.
Give guests a sweet, on-theme treat at the end of the evening like these trendy soirées — each inspired by Coco Chanel. At the Coco Chanel Sweet 16 celebration, cake pops from Thierry’s Catering boasted CC logoed sticks, while a fully decked-out sweets table overflowed with Chanel-pink florals and graphic black-and-white stripes. Another chic table — at the Chanel-Inspired Wedding — featured a towering on-brand wedding cake from Butter End Cakery to celebrate nuptial bliss. The delectable, edible centerpiece anchored a dessert table filled with black, pink, and white confections, florals, and candles in a display curated by Revelry Event Designers. Yet another sweet emblem incarnation came in the form of vanilla and chocolate cupcakes at a Chanel-Inspired Sprinkle from planner CRE8 at Chicago’s chic DL Loft.
