Cheese on Tap, Branded Cocktails, and Make-Your-Own Cannolis — PartySlate Hosts a Creative & Memorable Phoenix Launch Party for Top Event Professionals
by Pamela Rothbard, Editor
On October 2, 2019, PartySlate celebrated its 14th city launch in the year-round sunny city of Phoenix. The company’s entry into the Phoenix event scene drew top event planners, design professionals, photographers, and more from surrounding areas, who came to fête the growing brand and learn more about how to leverage their own companies on the site.
PartySlate provides inspiration and information for party hosts, along with an elegant, easy way to find the best event professionals for their celebrations. Unlike other wedding-only sites, PartySlate also includes over 600,000 images and resources from real events like Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations, corporate events and activations, fundraising galas, and milestone celebrations like birthday parties, anniversaries, and showers.
Guests attending the company’s Phoenix launch were greeted at a modern mini-mobile truck while enjoying a breakdance performance by Products of Infamy. They entered The Croft Downtown through a keyhole framed by greenery — an entrance that signaled a creative journey of sorts. The Croft’s open layout and chic all-white palette proved to be the perfect backdrop for the fun, colorful celebration.
The design team from Angelic Grove — who also serve as The Croft’s in-house designers — conjured a vision with chic lounge areas with impeccably-mixed pieces from Glamour and Woods for gathering and connecting, plus lighting that furthered the eclectic vibe with a mix of string lights and chandeliers that cast a lovely glow. A ceiling festooned with hanging potted plants along with white tabletop florals, provided Farm Export then arranged by Angelic Grove, added lush elements to the desert-themed affair.
Meanwhile, M Culinary Concepts elevated the celebration with conversation-starting fare like nacho cheese on tap (yes, you read that right), 8-hour mesquite-smoked cauliflower steaks, and strawberries Romanoff shooters. Michael Stavros, Partner and Director of Business Development at M Culinary, said of the event, “My team and I were so excited to have this unique opportunity to partner with PartySlate and some of our best friends here in the local industry to help launch PartySlate Phoenix. For us, it’s an opportunity to showcase some of the concepts that we’re going to be launching for this event season.”
Among the team’s delectable activitations were a rolling dim sum cart and a make-your-own cannoli station. Stavros added, “These concepts are based on all of the research we’ve done, talking with our colleagues around the country, checking out PartySlate and seeing what the best of the best are doing. So, we hope that other professionals see what we’re putting out and it inspires them to come up with new ideas just as much as what they’re doing has inspired us.”
Partygoers enjoyed custom-branded cocktails with floating edible paper with the PartySlate logo and event-specific art, mirroring the beautiful floral invitations from Victoria York Design, all served up by Couple of Bartenders. Other curated sips included a skinny margarita and a maple bacon old fashioned, as well as traditional cocktails. In addition to the chic gold mobile check-in truck, The Duke Truck also provided a buzzed-about bar truck.
When they weren’t networking, eating, and drinking, guests enjoyed beats from Desert House Productions and snapping pics in the open-air photo booth from the appropriately named TapSnap, Phoenix in front of a branded backdrop framed by giant palm leaves and more florals. Pool tables, ping pong tables, and a giant chess set from Epic Party Team added to the whimsical, communal feeling of the party and offered guests yet another opportunity to interact.
CEO and Co-Founder of PartySlate, Julie Roth Novack, highlighted what’s to come for the brand and how it is growing to better serve event professionals, venues, and event hosts. “We’re really building out more inspiration features on the site. So now when people are coming in they get inspired and find event professionals, they can save things to Idea Slates, they can share them with their event professionals or partners and really cut some of the ideation back and forth with their planning team.” As she spoke, the site scrolled behind her on an awe-inducing state-of-the-art video wall from AZ Sound Pro.
Throughout the celebration, Cameron Clark Photography, captured every design detail and smiling interaction in rich photos, while Amoroma Productions shot gorgeous video of the same. Upon leaving the soirée, guests were able to grab a spring roll from a mobile cart before they “rolled” out.
