Chicago, IL (January 21, 2019) – PartySlate, the country’s leading platform for event inspiration and design, makes key announcements today regarding funding and expansion.
PartySlate has closed a $3 million seed round, bringing total funding to date to $6 million. Hyde Park Venture Partners led the round, with Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, Dundee Ventures, and Purple Arch Ventures as new investors. Previous investors who also participated in the round include Wavemaker Partners, Halogen Ventures, Hyde Park Angels, and InvestHer Ventures.
The newest round of funding will be used to fuel product development, expand the marketing team, and accelerate national growth. PartySlate has quickly become the leading website for brides, grooms, and other party hosts celebrating milestone birthdays, weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, corporate events, and fundraisers. People planning these large-scale events can find new ideas and trends, save what inspires them, and contact top local event professionals.
“Our platform is being embraced by both leading event professionals and people who are planning large-scale events,” says PartySlate Co-Founder and CTO, John Haro. “This funding will enable us to double the size of our development team and launch new capabilities that will simplify the process of planning an event.”
More than 6,000 leading event professionals and venues from around the world have created profile pages to showcase their work, build their brands, and drive leads. Unlike Pinterest and wedding blogs, every photo on PartySlate is linked back to the event professionals that produced the event, including event planners, venues, decor companies, caterers, photographers, and entertainers. In 2018, revenue from event professionals — who pay an annual subscription for an elevated presence on the site — has grown over 400% year over year.
Over 400,000 stunning photos have been posted to PartySlate from leading event professionals, venues, and hotels. “We have made it easy for these incredibly talented event professionals to share their extensive photo portfolio and credit their event partners,” says PartySlate Co-Founder and CEO, Julie Roth Novack. “And now for the first time, people can see a list of event professionals who have worked at a venue, and with a single click, view all of their work.”
PartySlate also launched in South Florida at the Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach on November 28, 2018 and San Diego at the Andaz San Diego on January 7, 2019. Palm Beach and San Diego mark the company’s sixth and seventh markets, respectively, with Miami and Washington, D.C. to follow in early 2019.
Lastly, PartySlate congratulates Paige Chenault, Founder and CEO of The Birthday Party Project, for receiving the first-ever PartySlate Impact Award. The annual award recognizes individuals and organizations within the events industry that give back to their communities. The Birthday Party Project is a nonprofit committed to bringing joy to children in homeless shelters through the magic of birthday parties. The organization has hosted over 7,000 birthday parties in shelters and transitional facilities across the country.
PartySlate is a beautifully curated website where leading event professionals share their work with the world, build their brands, and inspire people planning large-scale events. Brides, grooms and party hosts of all kinds can view over 400,000 stunning event photos, search and find venues, save what inspires them, and contact top event professionals who can bring their ideas to life. PartySlate features beautiful and unique corporate events, galas, birthdays, weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, and other milestone celebrations.
