For non-profit organizations and charities, galas are an essential means of raising funds and maintaining strong connections with a donor base. As COVID-19 continues to limit travel and large gatherings, nonprofits must find new (and safe) ways to host their yearly fundraising galas. For many, that means going virtual.
On Tuesday, September 1, PartySlate CEO and Co-Founder Julie Roth Novack joined a panel of experts to explore this new world of virtual galas and non-profit events. Her panel included:
- Tasha Bracken, Founder & Event Producer of Tasha Bracken Events
- Janeen Saltman, Founder & President of JKS Events
- AJ Williams, Founder & Creative Director of AJ Events
Julie initiated the discussion by exploring the dynamic world of virtual galas and how organizations are able to reach new audiences through a virtual setting. The group also reviewed the best practices and steps to produce a successful virtual event. From there, AJ Williams, an event planner and designer who recently made the jump to hybrid-virtual galas, explored how to maximize fundraising and engagement. Janeen Saltman, a non-profit event planner who recently pivoted to virtual events, continued the discussion by detailing how virtual event platforms and new technology can drive deeper engagement. Tasha Bracken, an event planner with years of fundraising experience, concluded the discussion by shining a light on the new role of the virtual gala planner.
