Merry Marry
Knowing the holidays would already be in full swing, the bride and groom wanted a wedding to match the warm, jovial vibe of the season. Lush evergreens studded with twinkling white lights defined the cloisters outside Highland Park Methodist Church while a playfully dressed Christmas tree complete with “Kendall and Rusty” garland added a touch of nostalgic whimsy indoors. An ethereal swagged drape outfitted with colorful floral tie-backs served as the entryway for the 315 guests at the Fashion Industry Gallery. Further inside the space, a combination of towering and low and lush centerpieces made with eucalyptus pods, fluffy white hydrangeas, lavender stock, cranberry blooms, various roses, and a plethora of evergreens contained in gold and silver mercury compote vases satisfied the couple’s desire for a colorful, gardenesque atmosphere. Along with an abundance of soft candlelight, the seasonal vibe was showcased through comfort food like maple-glazed duck breast, raspberry chipotle pork tenderloin, goat cheese and roasted corn spoon bread and pumpkin cake balls. When guests weren’t burning off a few appetizers on the dance floor, they could be found lounging on one of the gray Highlands sofas or making modern-day GIF memories in the open-air photo booth.
