PartySlate’s Chic Cocktail Soirée in Beverly Hills

On August 15th, PartySlate partnered with Mr. C Beverly Hills to host Los Angeles’ top event professionals and tastemakers for an exclusive cocktail party to meet, network and learn. The top floor of the boutique hotel provided a stunning setting with panoramic views of the LA skyline and mountains and a beautiful terrace offering the perfect elevated outdoor spot.

Guests enjoyed an antipasto bar and delectable passed hors d’oeuvres — including sea scallops with prosciutto and sage, artichoke and avocado in Parmesan cups, and chicken and waffles with maple syrup glaze — from Mr. C’s talented catering team, while enjoying the smooth sounds of a duo of from The Golden Coast All Stars. The talented musical pair sang modern and classic songs accompanied by guitars, offering a lovely mood-setting sound for partygoers.

PartySlate CEO and co-founder, Julie Roth Novack, welcomed guests and interviewed Danny Chaimson about his path from musician to founder of popular wedding and event entertainment company Gold Coast Events. Chaimson spoke about being a touring musician out of Los Angeles and having the experience of attending weddings in his hometown of Chicago and finding the wedding bands lacking. He put together a band from scratch for his own wedding and everyone said, “We’ve never seen anything like that, you should move home to Chicago and do this” — and he did, starting the Gold Coast All Stars in Chicago eight years ago as a “cool” wedding band with upwards of eight lead singers who each specialize in a different sound.

Two years ago, Chaimson expanded to Los Angeles with The Golden Coast All Stars enlisting a lot of “comrades from the touring world” — musicians who don’t typically perform in wedding bands — to join him. He also added that he loves PartySlate because it allows consumers and even event professionals to easily see the types of luxe, large-scale weddings and events at which his bands typically perform.

Celebrity Event Planner, Mindy Weiss, then spoke about trends in her increasingly- corporate event business. “It’s more of an experience now,” she said of the events, “They want to surprise the people they’re inviting with something that is interactive, innovative, and colorful.” She added, “When you’ve been in this business a long time, doing something new, regenerates your creativity — and we don’t have to send anyone down the aisle!” Weiss admits she had to learn about how to create strong branding at events by recounting a story of planning one of her early events with one branded photo area then discovered that the client wanted ten such spots. She says she takes a lot of inspiration from fashion shows — “Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, they’re all doing what’s next.”

When asked about PartySlate, Weiss told the room of event planning, design, floral, and décor professionals, photographers, caterers and more: “You know there are a lot of places we can go for inspiration, but what I’ve found so interesting is that I can click on Mr. C, for example, and see what’s happening at all of their events. The platform is interesting, current and innovative.”

The Los Angeles skyline slowly lit up the evening sky as guests sipped curated cocktails in the chic space decorated with gorgeous pink floral arrangements from Butterfly Floral & Event Design on tables outfitted with dreamy printed linens provided by BBJ Linen. Meanwhile, photographer, Visuals by Arpit, beautifully captured the view, the guests, and décor in the flattering light of the setting sun.

When the party ended, guests lingered, enjoying conversations and the space a little bit longer, until PartySlate’s next gathering.
