On June 14, more than 400 Los Angeles VIP event professionals, celebrity planners and event industry insiders, celebrated the launch of PartySlate LA with a show-stopping launch party at new industrial chic venue “At The P.” PartySlate is a new website for people planning large-scale events, from corporate parties to weddings, mitzvahs to galas, and milestone birthdays. The beautifully designed site makes it easy to find new ideas, the perfect venue and the best local event professionals. After a successfully launching in Chicago, PartySlate is now focused on helping leading LA venues, planners, decor and floral companies, caterers, and photographers share their portfolio to build their business.

The launch party was a destination of inspiration on its own, offering guests everything from impeccable decor and design, small-batch cocktails, never-seen-before entertainment and California cuisine at its finest. PartySlate revels in what is new and found the perfect home for the LA Launch at this Hollywood venue “At the P.” This lighting factory-turned-urban chic venue boasted endless charm, from the exposed brick and beams to vast courtyard, all while offering a pristine caterer’s’ kitchen and impossibly glamorous guest restrooms.

Inside the event, celebrity event designer Rrivre Davies of Rrivre Works fashioned the otherwise blank palette and took the industrial chic look and made it functional and stylish. They turned the outside lot into a urban garden, bringing in white iron furniture and an inviting green backdrop. Rrivre’s thoughtful details, from massive champagne buckets on the bar to old Hollywood stage lighting, made for visual eye candy.  The Rrivre Works team custom builds most of its furniture, from the interactive bar stations to the tufted rounds and the boxwood hedge walls. Rrivre was on point as creative director for the event.

Shawna Yamamoto and her team elaborated on the creative landscape and installed the decor throughout the warehouse space and the urban garden. Their team created custom chandeliers out of wind chimes, handmade a custom stage backdrop from sword fern, leather fern, variegated pittosporum, lemon leaf and craft paper, and softened the industrial look with fragrant and romantic blooms around every turn. Peonies and tulips shone through fresh greenery for a look that was both hip and eclectic. In the garden, Shawna and her team accented the white and green with blue chinoiserie and bird cage.

Scarlette Bartending stole the show with their visionary cocktail stations. Guests were greeted with tray-passed lavender gin orange slush served in a fresh frozen orange. Once inside, the full workshop of cocktail mixing took flight as guests had the opportunity to select a floral ice sphere and top it with rose infused cucumber vodka or tequila, and mix it with fixings from the creation station. Fresh herbs, hibiscus, pepper, lavender, juniper and bitters were just a few of the options for the cocktail technicians to use in each drink.

Good Gracious! Events delighted guests with its passed petite gourmet bites, which included favorites like the 5 spice carne taco asada, the avocado crostini and the colorful jewel carrots wrapped with honey chevre prosciutto. Inside, Good Gracious! created custom shelves with a bountiful cheese display — offering guests everything from creamy gioia burrata with sea salt, to farm feta and white crystal salt cheddar, paired with smoked salmon torte, California style serrano ham, heirloom corn succotash and shaved gold and orange beets with edible flower petals. Guests in the garden visited the salad wall, which offered guests a choice of small custom salads set to California’s freshest flavors.  Rounding out the night were the trifecta of show-stopping sweets: Lavender ice cream cones, tequila watermelon iced popsicles and sweet and salty pretzel wands.

Luxury Entertainment Group brought the party to life with two phenomenal bands. The Westsiders, a crazy talented group, kicked off the night, welcoming guests to the celebration with iconic songs set with their style. Any Case Events helped grab the crowd’s attention before the panel discussion with their team of “dancing waitstaff” – who snuck in the room looking like part of event team and then jolted into a snappy dance to call attention to the room. Lisa Polak from At the P invited Julie Novack, PartySlate’s CEO, to the stage for the brief event industry panel. Novack interviewed celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss, famed caterer Pauline Parry from Good Gracious! Events and highly-sought after photographer Brian Leahy. Weiss, Parry and Leahy offered bits of information and insight on the events industry.

“This is an industry that does not stop,” Mindy Weiss said. “I do not have time to keep my photos up to date on my website. Let someone else help you the way that we help our clients. PartySlate is a one stop shop for uploading your latest work and sharing it with the world.”

Following the panel, Luxury Entertainment Group showcased another standout band and this time it was silent! Guests were given neon-lit headsets for a live twist on the popular silent-disco DJ. The silent band thrilled guests who were ready to dance and enabled this highly connected crowd to continue networking.

And last but not least it was the small touches that the guests will remember. The Cappuccino Man station surprised and delighted guests with craft cappuccinos, topped with a shimmering cinnamon sugar PartySlate logo. And Pacific Event Services illuminated the courtyard wall with PartySlate branding while SocialLight SoCal provided a red-carpet quality photo booth and Blushington offered make-up “Blush Ups”. Thankfully, photographer Brian Leahy and Hoo Films were on hand to document this incredible evening.

The night was filled with new ideas, stand-out cuisine, wildly creative cocktails, top notch entertainment and great conversations amongst some of the top event professionals in LA and across the country.
