On July 25, PartySlate continued its expansion into the luxury event market with their summer soirée in the Hamptons, just outside of New York City. Elite planners, décor professionals, caterers, photographers, influencers, and more gathered to feté the brand at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, NY.
Amy Katz, president and founder of Amy Katz Events, who planned the memorable celebration with an experienced eye for sophistication and fun, said, “Parrish Art Museum was the perfect spot to host the launch celebration. So many event professionals in attendance were wowed by the Parrish Terrace space and were happy to have discovered it.” When ideating for the Hamptons event, Katz recruited “the best vendors in all of NYC and the Hamptons to collaborate on the summer soirée.” She adds, “And even knowing the quality of their work, they still all exceeded my expectations.”
The top-notch team included the floral design and décor professionals at Diana Gould Ltd, who curated a celebration filled with beachy glamour — a “glamptons” party. Jennifer Gould, owner of Diana Gould Ltd. says, “I like to create balance in spaces. For this event in this venue, that meant a ceiling installation that stretched from one end of the long space to the other to create a cohesive vibe.” The summer-style installation mixed lit paper lanterns with glittering gold strands swaying in the Hamptons breeze. Bentley Meeker Lighting & Staging Inc. made all of the dreamy lighting possible — from the overhead to twinkle lights behind the stage, LED uplighting to a sleek plasma screen wall displaying partner names.
Another way the team created a unified design is with the luxe summer palette of white and gold. “The hues were a sleek mix of New York sophistication and Hamptons style,” Gould says. The chic pairing of white and gold accented everything from décor and the performers to the menu and the goody bags. The glam décor included long alabaster dining tables with lucite chairs, plus groupings of white sofas with glass tables for lounging, shimmering gold stools, and flickering candles. In the center of it all was a gorgeous gold bar featuring a towering display of nearly 300 orchids supplied by floral firm, Farm Exports, and arranged into a phenomenal display by Gould’s team.
Katz and Gould considered the guest experience every step of the way, ensuring just-right spots for gathering, eating, and dancing. Guests were ushered into the captivating space by greeters, from Total Entertainment, donned in gold-mirrored bodysuits topped with collars and crowns of white florals — setting the tone that the evening was going to be unique. A living Champagne station consisted of a performer draped in crystals with delicate glasses suspended in the arms of her chandelier outfit. She welcomed partygoers with flutes of Cheurlin Champagne, exclusively imported by a subsidiary of basketball star Isiah Thomas’ Isiah International. Guests also sipped the star of summer 2019 — rosé — from a branded bar offering Beach Juice Rosé in adorable, just-right-for-warm-days cans.
Partygoers enjoyed additional performances from Total Entertainment, including an ethereal bubble girl dancer, an astounding contortionist, and a human fortune teller table — at which the entertainer peered into crystal balls and read the rhythms of swinging crystals to predict futures for eager guests.
In between mingling with other top event professionals, guests enjoyed elevated, on-point summer fare from Elegant Affairs Caterers. The culinary team took Hamptons-style eating into consideration — healthy whole foods with lots of plant-based options — when planning the perfect party menu. Passed bites included watermelon radishes with sweet potato hummus, chilled suhu shrimp with soba noodles, and adorably-perfect personal cheese boards. Three stations offered guests additional delectable choices.
Andrea Correale, president and founder of Elegant Affairs Caterers, says, “We took the trend of guacamole one step further with a chef-manned guacamole bar, complete with toppings like lobster, organic smoked chicken breast, beans, sprouts, veggies, and assorted hot sauces.” In addition to chef’s crafting guacamole live in authentic stone molcajetes, the caterer offered a custom Buddha bowl bar and a sea bass station with a spring pea orzo salad. The delicious fare was served on sleek and modern tableware from Party Rental LTD, to, in Correale’s words, “blend Hampton’s cuisine with a bit of glam!” Starr Tent provided an excellent tented spot for food preparation to take place.
At any perfect gathering (which this was), it’s the music that sets the tone and moderates the guest experience. Hank Lane Music — of which Katz says, “there’s no better band in NYC” — curated an evening that began with a stunning trio, continued with an engaging DJ and ended with a dance-floor shaking band. The trio of saxophone, drums, and harp featured a singing harpist playing modern tunes — a rare combination for a unique evening. DJ Josh Greyson curated the perfect music for mingling. Last, the Jenna Wynne Band brought energy from the custom all-white, never-before-seen acrylic stage from Fusion Productions, and had partygoers begging for “one more song” at the end of the evening.
An event that ends with guests reluctantly leaving the dance floor is an evening that deserves to be captured — and shared. Shake & Share Media created an Instagram-worthy photo booth with a backdrop of glittering gold and a floating frame that guests could stand in front of or behind for creative snaps. Capturing the whole of the soirée was the talented team from Brett Matthews Photography. The resulting images show that the photographers were in every right spot at every right moment to catch every little stunning detail and every over-the-top moment. The responsive and experienced team from Joseph Edwards Films beautifully captured the movement of the evening, staying until the last note to capture every moment of fun. See sneak peek video below.
For a sweet ending, Cupcakes and Everything Chocolate presented a dessert station that somehow managed to be glamorous and delicious at the same time. Oreos dipped in white chocolate and accented with edible gold foil featured beautiful PartySlate branding, while shortcake cookies with fruit and floral toppings brought additional color and flavor.
And guests didn’t leave the soirée empty-handed thanks to LB Squared who curated gold glittered swag bags for each attendee filled with branded items including water, gold lip balm, a candle, and a mini Champagne bottle filled with sweet gummy candy. Fancy That — who also created the event’s “save the date” and invitations — printed gorgeous goody bag cards complete with luxe paper and gold foil lanterns to thank all of the partners who pulled together to conjure this truly special evening.
Gould echoes Katz’s statement of the experience of working with this team of event professionals, saying, “I had a great experience with everyone, from the caterer to the venue. It’s exciting to work with your peers and be able to coordinate and complement each other’s work like this.”
