Romantic & Glam Morgan Manufacturing Wedding

All weddings are special but this one was especially so. The bride, a fashionista, requested a sophisticated wedding style that was unique, elegant and, at the same time, not pretentious. She wanted a creative urban setting that would be a bit surprising to the 250 guests that were expected from all over the United States. Family, friends, fashion and fun was on the menu. The menu had to be recognizable, accessible and plentiful, incorporating a variety of ethnic cultures, and a wide range from high to low since families and their children were definitely encouraged to attend.
Dancing was going to be a key component of this evening and so while the food offering had to be abundant, a long drawn out multicourse dinner was not desired! As caterers, Entertaining Company was tasked with designing a wedding celebration, developing and creating the food and service, and hiring the other wedding vendors to make the evening come alive.
First, we designed and offered an extended New York style substantial cocktail hour. The menu incorporated a range of eight types of waiter passed hors d’oeuvres plus welcomed guests to sample from multiple cocktail buffets that incorporated touches of places the couple loved as well as combining Mediterranean centric ethnic backgrounds. The menu consisted of an overflowing display of cheese and charcuterie at the Italian inspired food station accompanied by an Amalfi fish salad and gorgonzola savory cheesecake. In addition, Entertaining Company offered a Mediterranean inspired station that included chef carved lamb chops prepared three ways and Athenian style salads. All of the stunning serving trays were provided by The Storied Table which was a huge help in creating a unique visual statement with our food. The extensive range of offerings during the cocktail hour allowed us to provide a short two course seated dinner, Orichiette Pasta and then Beef Tenderloin. We then proceeded right into a huge celebration of music and dancing for the rest of the evening with a dessert buffet to follow.
Keeping up with the forever evolving décor and design trends in the wedding industry can be challenging. The couple worked with HMR Designs to come up with something that would be both trendy and memorable, while still incorporating the traditional Jewish ceremony chuppah: the bride’s overall goal. The bride and groom wanted everything to be intimate and yet impactful, extremely memorable and breathe taking; we think Rishi Patel of HMR succeeded. Although Morgan Manufacturing is a very industrial chic venue, the décor brought in a more natural feel making it an overall romantic glam wedding reflecting the romance of this couple. Suspending everything was a key element in the reception décor making a memorable statement to all guests that attended. The ropes with tassel details provided a whimsical feel that was not expected but an amazing touch noticed by all. Above some tables, suspended flowers hung over a cut velvet patterned runner which added color and a glam aspect to the natural wood. Candles surrounding the party and dim lighting continued the romantic theme started in the ceremony.
With the design of this wedding, many juxtapositions were able to be accommodated; the atmosphere was intimate and opulent, elegant and un-pretentious, and most importantly, enjoyed by the guests who started the evening as strangers and ended up as family.
