Same Sex Weddings to Swoon Over

Friends and family came together to celebrate this devoted couple’s big day, surrounded by the splendor of The Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, CA. Jessica Campbell Events orchestrated a gorgeous ceremony on the grounds which flowed seamlessly into a luxe grey and silver-themed indoor reception. Andrew Weeks Photography captured the joy, often choosing to shoot in black and white which allowed the grooms’ fun-loving personalities to provide the color. Statuesque white floral centerpieces were created by Asiel Design, and mirrored the two trees that flanked the grooms during the ceremony. Elegant Cheese Cakes lived up to its name, delighting guests with a custom hexagon-shaped cake, monogrammed with the happy couple’s first initials.

With the breathtaking New York City skyline as a backdrop, this happy couple tied the knot on the rooftop of The William Vale. NYLUX Events perfectly planned the day, which featured a large white wedding cake hiding multiple rainbow layers within to surprise and delight the celebrants. Gruber Photographers had no shortage of subject matter, including the reception area, which was gorgeously decorated thanks to Carlos Rivas Design & Production. Floral design choices brought the outside in with small trees and innovative floral displays. Guests celebrated late into the evening, taking sweet breaks at the over-the-top candy bar.

Love was in the air at this picture-perfect wedding celebration at Four Seasons in Vail, CO. Event planner JA Special Events coordinated all the details while Pink Monkey Solutions added soft lighting and decor to set the tone including the creation of a magnificent aisle seemingly floating down the center of the outdoor pool. Florals by Vintage Magnolia combined tall spiraling branches with small burgundy orchids to frame the happy couple and tables were set with deep burgundy linens and candles galore.  After dinner, guests were treated to fruit tartlets, hand-crafted cake pops, and a sumptuous white wedding cake.

This gorgeous couple tied the knot in the architecturally-stunning California courtyard of The Ebell of Los Angeles in front of friends and family. Amy Greenberg Events created an ethereal theme while Mulberry Row designed perfectly-matched florals of white hydrangea and blush roses. Susie Cakes provided a luscious white cake, texturized to reflect the Ebell’s fine carved pillars then simply decorated with pink and white peonies. Lucky Devils Band kept the party rocking so that Wisteria Photography was able to capture the happy guests celebrating the brides.

This sweet couple made it official at a ceremony and reception held in an urban, industrial wedding space in Chicago, IL. Wrap It Up Parties perfectly executed the luxe theme, and Kehoe Designs accented the space with heavy wooden tables covered in jewel-toned posies. A large circular display of vibrant greenery and draping florals hung above the center of the room, floating above the magnificent four-tier cake. Food for Thought created a custom dinner menu, and Nakai Photography caught the whole scene, utilizing the space to capture unique images and memories that will last a lifetime.

A dream wedding in breathtaking Santorini, Greece, fulfilled the romantic notions of this happy couple, not to mention their lucky friends and family! La Maltese — a luxurious villa with stunning views — took care of the linens and catering, which included a dinner menu of classic Greek fare. Kesh Events planned the details, opting for simple greenery with bright green hydrangea and white roses covering tables. Rebecca Marie Photography had an ideal backdrop of the sea and colorful rooftops to frame her gorgeous shots, and Multimedia Events Santorini kept the tunes pumping and guests dancing all night long.

An Art Deco theme suited this fabulous couple as well as the always-gorgeous space at The Ebell of Los Angeles in California. Chic Ambiance Events had fun with this luxe theme, reflecting the gold and black of one bride’s jacket through many details of the festivities. The celebration was highlighted by all white floral displays, created by Loris Flowers, and gilded table linens from Elegant Designs Specialty Linen. Stagelab lit the scene with a custom lighting scheme, and guests joined the newlyweds on the dance floor to boogie all night.

A classic Chicago affair, these two brides had a city theme with Tiffany blue accents in mind when they started planning their nuptials. Event planner Clementine Custom Events turned the Bridgeport Art Center into celebration central. Floral arrangements comprised of blush and cream roses from Oliver Dogwood Floral Co., and designs by Melody Carroll filled the space with beauty. Inspired Catering and Events created a custom dinner menu, finished off with a cake from one of Chicago’s favorite bakeries, Sweet Mandy B’s. The brides’ adorable, color-coordinated Converse tennis shoes were a delightful surprise to the wedding party, who gladly danced the night away to the beats of The Gold Coast All Stars.

The steel gray painted brick and luxe navy linen wallpaper at The Dawson — a chic Chicago spot —  made for a gorgeously masculine space for these two grooms to exchange vows. Roots of Life Photography captured the pair’s intimate reception, from the guests to the decor, which included bright florals and dreamy candlelight. The reception theme was “A Century of Progress” representing the World’s Fair of 1933 in Chicago; appropriately, the happy couple’s celebration featured vintage fair posters, a weathered metal Ferris wheel, an antique wooden phone (progress!) and Cracker Jack snacks.

This stunning couple chose a serene garden ceremony for their big day, held in the luxe Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles, CA. Event planner Jenny Chang created a visually-stunning celebration, with white peony and rose floral arrangements from My Wedding Blooms. Thick floral garlands also covered the sophisticated wedding arch provided by Rental Avenue. Jen Huang Photography chose to shoot in black and white or tinted hues to capture the magical glow of the day’s festivities. Guests enjoyed hamming it up in the photobooth from Mirmir Photo, but couldn’t resist the dance floor thanks to beats from VOX DJ’s.

Choosing a favorite destination as their wedding site, these grooms opted for an intimate celebration with family and friends in Bridgman, MI. Hope Weis Consulting helped plan this bohemian beach house celebration. Custom invitations along with an adorable booklet for guests containing the couple’s favorite places in town was created by HH Design. Live music from Don Cagen Orchestra filled the air as the brides said “I do” in a circle of bright florals from Tulipia Floral Design. KingenSmith captured every lush detail and tender expression of the special day, which included dinner served near glowing fireplaces that perfectly highlighted candlelit tablescapes set with ruby linens.

This classic Chicago affair took place downtown in the contemporary, lofted space of Chez, just steps from Michigan Avenue. Flowers for Dreams created sculptural displays of tall flower branches dotted with delicate white posies to match the elegant surroundings. Vases of white tulips and blush roses ran down the middle of long dining tables, which were set with chic charcoal blue linens. Blue Plate Catering designed a sophisticated menu and Alliance Bakery’s three-tier white cake enhanced the scene. This handsome U.K. couple realized their dream of Pride and Prejudice-themed nuptials, choosing the historically important Sudeley Castle in the Cotswolds of England as the ideal wedding site. Wedding attire was chosen to match the theme of Jane Austen’s romantic novel, delicately accented by simple purple thistle boutonnières. Photographer Beller-Jones captured stunning shots of the grooms surrounded by pastoral countryside, open sky, and majestic peacocks, which roam the grounds. The ceremony itself took place in the castle’s library to aptly reflect their passion for love and adventure stories.

These two lovely brides set their wedding in a honeymooner’s paradise, opting for the natural surroundings of Haiku, Hawaii to tie the knot. Event designer and coordinator Elements by K.H. & Co. added delicate touches to the already gorgeous, 150-year-old property of Haiku Mill. Teresa Sean Design artfully arranged blush roses and peonies among an abundance of green leaves and branches.  Dmitri and Sandra photographed the tranquil scene, which included a vine-covered dining area furnished with adorable island-style tables and chairs from Rio Event Design. Guests were delighted to sample the local fare provided by Cutting Edge Catering.

Friends and family were thrilled to join these two lovebirds on the beach of beautiful Riviera Maya, Mexico. Two villas in South Akumal were rented for the occasion, and the day was filled with tears of joy, sunshine, and celebration. The ceremony took place under a simple white canopy on the beach, decorated with two lush bouquets of greenery accented by orange lilies and roses, which mirrored the garlands worn by each groom. Genya Shenko + Erik Shenko Photography captured gorgeous shots, including the exciting culmination of the evening—a high intensity performance of drummers, hula hoops and fire twirlers!  

After waiting 17 years to be legally married, this active Dallas couple was overjoyed to plan their big day and outlined a very specific vision for their wedding. Sue Kelson Events took careful note of their requests, ensuring every detail was perfect for the ceremony and the reception, both held in the lofted space of Hickory Street Annex. Haute Floral got creative with natural bouquets, and lounge areas were outlined using furniture from Beautiful Event Rentals. An arch was designed based on a sketch drawn by one of the brides and was built from flora and fauna seen on the couple’s many hikes, personalizing the gorgeous day even further. The food was abundant and Panini Bakery made sure there were multiple styles and flavors of cakes on hand.  Meanwhile, Havi Frost Photography captured photo ops in front of a funky camper prop.

The historical New York Public Library, filled with loves stories for the ages, seemed an appropriate setting for this handsome couple to wed. With the iconic architecture as a backdrop, Marcy Blum Associates added glam lighting and sophisticated touches throughout. A candlelit walkway paid homage to romance and tables were set with chic striped linens and textured chargers, along with modern floral displays. Genevieve de Manio Photography captured memories that will last these celebrants a lifetime.

The natural surroundings of Rancho Valencia Resort and Spa made a perfect setting for this lovely couple’s wedding in San Diego, CA. Thomas Bui Lifestyle blended a French countryside theme with the natural fauna of the area, and Adorations Botanical Artistry chose dark orange and light tangerine-hued posies to pop in rich green floral arrangements. Farm Tables and More provided rustic tables and chairs, while La Tavola laid a foundation of linens for the lush tablescapes. An all-vegan menu of classic California fare was served and, prior to dinner, guests were treated to a sabering ceremony by a local sommelier to open a bottle of French Champagne that the newlyweds brought back from Paris.
