Here at PartySlate, we spend our days poring over images from gorgeous, well-thought-out, highly-personal celebrations. We especially love to see how transformative a well-executed vision — realized by a skilled design team — can be. Here, we’re in awe that the same planner and design teams were able to totally recreate a single space in a classic NYC venue to accommodate two very different weddings. The in-demand planners at Sonal J. Shah Event Consultants worked with the talented design team at Design House Decor to create two awe-inspiring celebrations in Cipriani Wall Street’s stunning Grand Ballroom.

Sonal J. Shah is well known for her over-the-top, creative South Asian weddings, and these celebrations show why. The dramatic custom-printed dance floor at this Moroccan-inspired wedding pops with bright color and commands attention — it’s almost too pretty to cover with guests dancing. Lighting from Stargroup Pro exhibits once again how important a well-designed lighting scheme is in invoking mood at a celebration. The hues, ranging from pink and blue to green and yellow, flow incredibly well together for a cohesive feel. The elegant, understated floral arrangements and chic modern furniture from Luxe Event Rentals provide the perfect balance to the extravagant lighting. We also appreciate how the printed suite of elements from Emily Kathryn Paper added additional texture and color (and inspired that epic dance floor from GoToShout). Sonal J. Shah spoke about the traditional elements of the event, saying, “We wanted it to be very traditional and festive, thus we chose the yellow and blue. This was more for a Sangeet event, which is more of a traditional Indian wedding event.”

We love the flexibility of Cipriani’s Grand Ballroom. In this design iteration, overflowing florals are breathtaking, draping over tables throughout the ballroom. The Greek Revival architecture adds additional grandeur to this multicultural wedding. We think the purple and pink décor is a perfect complement to the blush hue of this enchanting space and appreciate how the pink uplighting adds vibrant energy. “We based everything around their outfits which were designed by the famous Indian designer, Tarun Tahiliani. Once Tarun designed their outfits, we took inspiration and based the décor around these luxurious designs. We wanted something that was luxe yet elegant,” explains Shah. Both words are apt here. We especially love the way the lighting highlights the natural architectural beauty of the elegant venue.
