Tuesday Top 5: Tasty Takes on Corporate Event Branding

Photographer: Luis Antonio Ruiz

For this week’s Tuesday Top 5 — where we pause to marvel and share a specific element, image, or detail from events we love — we’re focused on clever edible corporate branding.

Offering a twist on the old adage, these corporate events show that the fastest way to a guest’s heart is through their stomach. Branded menus are nice, branded cuisine is even better. We love these innovative takes on branding that incorporate messaging into the food and/or drinks being served. From retro push-pops to of-the-moment cocktails, these companies remind party-goers what they’re celebrating with every bite and sip.

This event celebrated Kim Crawford Wines’ launch of their summer-perfect rosé wine. The photo-ready celebration from New York-based firm, SHADOW, featured beautiful branding incorporated seamlessly into the décor. Jessica Fels Event Production & Design utilized a stylish palm print against a striped black and white background accented by pops of pale pink to emphasize the new pink wine on everything from the bar to the custom seating from Designer 8 rentals. Blooms in blush and hot pink shades from Floral Rush and Eric Buterbaugh completed the lush atmosphere. A stand-out branding moment that incorporated summer and the new wine in one delicious combination were the wine-infused push pops from Beverly Hills Hotel Catering.

This Spotify music showcase from New York-based event planner, Eventique, used the brand’s logo on everything from the pillows to the neon sign on the DJ booth and utilized their signature green in the the event’s lighting. But our favorite brand incarnation was on the curated cocktails which sported the Spotify logo and name in the cool green, reminding partygoers with every sip exactly why they were there.

Taking a cue from the color palette of Too Faced’s new cosmetic collection, this launch party for the “Life’s a Festival” line featured a pastel rainbow from Revelry Event Designers. The wow entrance to the celebration at Los Angeles’ Carondelet House was accented by a towering balloon installation in a prism of tints from Wild Child. As planned by Mindy Weiss Party Consultants, the collection’s tagline of “Peace, Love & Unicorns” inspired a photo area featuring a life-sized white unicorn statue “floating” on a cloud of white balloons. Another stand-out Instagram-ready spot was an uber-cool logoed backdrop with striped hues filled in with coordinating bags of delectable cotton candy from Mercado Services.

BET Network’s holiday dinner from Nicole Marie Events featured chic black, white and gold décor that popped against a sea of green linens and towering greenery in shapely black vases marching down the center of the tables. Individual dessert cakes from Cake Life Chicago provided our favorite branding moment of the event, with cream-colored confections dripping with chocolate and topped with golden French macarons printed with the network’s logo — a delectable way to celebrate the year’s end. The evening ended with clever take-home gift kits for recovery from a late night that included hangover mainstays like aspirin and mints.

Last June, more than 400 Los Angeles VIP event professionals, celebrity planners and event industry insiders gathered to celebrate the launch of PartySlate in their city. The industrial chic event featured creative décor from Shawna Yamamoto including custom chandeliers made from wind chimes and accented the outdoor spaced-turned-urban garden by planner, Rrivre Works, with blue chinoiserie and white bird cages. PartySlate branded the event with a custom lighting logo projection from Pacific Event Services while the Cappuccino Man station surprised and delighted guests with craft coffees — topped with a shimmering cinnamon and sugar PartySlate logo.
