Tuesday Top 5: Tender Moments Turned Memories
There are moments in life that are so special that they’re freeze-framed in our memories. Weddings are chock-full of such moments — sweet glances, tearful smiles, first looks, conspiratorial grins — and luckily for these happy couples, their photographers were in the right place at the right time to capture them. The tenderness on display in these sweet reaction shots makes our hearts full.
1. Beaming Brides
This beautiful Brooklyn wedding offered stunning cityscape views from the rooftop of The William Vale. But these brides only had eyes for each other, especially in this sweet first-look moment perfectly captured by Gruber Photographers. The wedding, expertly planned by NYLUX Events featured a ceremonial chuppah with floating florals and gauzy draping that created an ethereal feel. Décor from Carlos Rivas Design & Production spun a reception vision with greenery and white blooms, tables outfitted with palm leaf linens, and dreamy string lights.
2. Veiling Before Vows
We love this tender moment of a groom placing his bride’s veil and reciting a blessing as captured by Joseph Lin Photography. The couple’s beaming, happy expressions make this artistic black-and-white shot, taken at New York’s Guastavino’s in Midtown West. Planned by Nadine Engel, with décor and florals by Bride and Blossom, the ceremony made beautiful use of the venue’s arching stone ceilings with pretty uplighting and a gorgeous organic chuppah constructed from draping greenery, contrasting against the rough stone.
3. Eager Expression
This East Hampton wedding in New York at the Maidstone Club boasted beachy views, a glorious sunset, and this adorable expression from the bride. Craig Paulson Studio captured the sweet moment — when the bride and groom saw each other for the first time — and, rightly so, zeroed in on the bride’s look that sums up the beautiful complexity of pre-wedding feelings: excitement, joy, nerves, happiness. The reception, as planned by Jill Gordon Celebrate, featured vivid red florals from Sag Harbor Florist, vibrant silk linens, and fun entertainment from Hank Lane.
4. A Tender Transition
This father-daughter moment makes us well up. A father giving his daughter’s hand in marriage is a rite of passage, but this pre-ceremony interaction, as captured by Callaway Gable, displays the tearful joy and pride involved in the transition. Hosted in Dana Point, California, the outdoor wedding at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa featured spectacular all-white theming from the amazing planners at The Lynden Lane Company. Keith J Laverty‘s floral and design team assembled alabaster florals and an eye-catching, organic structure draped in white as a focal point, rivaling the beautiful blue ocean views.
5. Wow-Worthy First Look
This moment — when a groom first lays eyes on his bride then covers his mouth in awe of her beauty — has us feeling all the feels. Jenny Smith & Co. captured the sweet second against a backdrop of palm-leafed greenery at the lush and perfectly-located Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica, California. The planners at Orange Blossom Special Events worked with the floral team at Peony & Plum to conjure a vibrant red-and-white hued celebration with a gorgeous traditional mandap at the outdoor ceremony and dramatic tall centerpieces for the ballroom reception.
