We celebrate the fall season by donning a scarf or lighting a fire, but our favorite stars celebrate a little differently — at star-studded over-the-top TV show premieres and parties. We enjoy our beloved TV shows in a variety of ways, from binge-watching an entire original series from Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO, or Hulu, to cozying up with the family to watch a new network TV episode live. More viewing opportunities mean the premiere season has become more dispersed throughout the year — but the premiere parties are still on-point.

Here’s a roundup of our favorite TV show premieres and events from this year and years past. These incredible parties pay homage to a TV series without forgetting to give guests a good time — and the events are original and memorable in their own right. Read on to see how the cast and creative teams celebrate a new season alongside family, friends, and other famous attendees.

HBO’s mysterious show, The Leftovers, celebrated with A-list celebs at this incredible premiere party at Avalon Hollywood. The series grapples with how and why 2% of the population suddenly goes missing. Event designer Billy Butchkavitz worked with Images By Lighting to create an amazing display of textured projections and blue-lit wall panels which featured images from the show — and it’s no easy feat to design a chic party around a show with so many secrets to keep.

HBO’s genre-bending sci-fi western, Westworld, celebrated the premiere of season 2 with on-theme futuristic décor, food, and lighting by Images by Lighting at NeueHouse Hollywood. Designer Billy Butchkavitz wowed attendees with mega-sized human-shaped wall displays evoking the show and innovative terrarium settings on glowing tables that guests could belly up to on cowhide stools. The show’s infamous tagline, “Live without limits” fit perfectly with this incredibly over-the-top celebration.

Game of Thrones celebrated its season 6 premiere at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel with help from designer Billy Butchkavitz. Lighting projections on the outside of the hotel announced the event to arriving guests. Detailed lighting displays by Images by Lighting and Bartkresa Studio projections continued to set the mood throughout the creative event held in the Roosevelt’s two-story lobby. Guests first enjoyed icy shades of white and blue surrounded by draping and centered by a massive throne fashioned from “frozen” swords. In another room, earthy décor carried the theme with wooden accent pieces, faux stone walls, and medieval-style portraits of characters.

The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel was the perfect location for HBO’s star-studded Big Little Lies premiere party. Guests flocked to the hotel ballroom, which was transformed into a California Coastal living room design, filled with French windows featuring sunset scenes. Other vignettes depicted the elementary school classroom and playground in the series with patio-style lounge areas. Designer Billy Butchkavitz worked with Images By Lighting to create a dappled atmosphere, reminiscent of an outdoor garden. Photographer Gabor Ekecs beautifully captured the celebrations. We’re savoring these premiere images along with the official news that a season 2 is in the works.

Candela La Brea, a chic industrial-style venue in LA, played host to the launch party for The Riveras. The NBC Universo network show highlights the Rivera family’s path to following their dreams. Designers placed a red carpet alongside a branded photo backdrop where guests took pictures upon entering. Green and purple lighting and lounge seating added to the hip atmosphere of the celebration and allowed partygoers to enjoy the show’s premiere episode together in between dining and socializing.

HBO Latino’s hit drama, El Negócio, kicked off their second season last summer at the Tribeca Rooftop in New York City with help from entertainment and lighting team, Power Posse Productions. Guests sat alongside gorgeous pastel floral arrangements by Gotham Florist and enjoyed their meals on seats draped in gauzy covers from BBJ Linen. HBO’s branding was elegant and cool, with cutouts of the HBO logo, as well as large displays of the El Negócio cover. Bottles of Moët fit nicely with the luxe feeling of the dinner party, which featured a sparkly table runner, also from BBJ Linen, to juxtapose other rustic design elements.

Another year marked another outstanding Game of Thrones premiere party to celebrate the new season of the show. Guests sat alongside caged gowns, suits, and other clothing from Game of Thrones as they ate dinner and enjoyed an over-the-top TV show premiere soirée. Designer Billy Butchkavitz created a transformative atmosphere with lighting by Images By Lighting in combination with TV show-branded projections by Bart Kresa Studio.

This feature is about beginnings — not endings — but we couldn’t resist adding this wow-worthy finale after party celebrating the season end of American Idol. Geffen Events worked tirelessly to create a memorable finale celebration at The Hollywood Roosevelt, which the team transformed into a gorgeous lounge-like oasis, filled with incredible seating by Hire Elegance. Custom-branded dance floor graphics from Creative Graphic Services acted as a great photo-op for guests to enjoy, and blue and white-toned décor was reminiscent of the famous American Idol stage.
