Top 8 Picks for Wedding Guest Amenities
by Mindy Weiss

You’ll be sharing the special moments on your big day with your cherished friends and family. All sorts of annoyances can distract your guests from, well, you. Namely, the heat, the cold, their tired feet, wind-tousled hair or split seams (it happens!). A little forethought can minimize discomfort and maximize joy. Renowned event planner, Mindy Weiss of Mindy Weiss Party Consultants, shares her favorite small amenities that can make a big difference for your wedding guests.

Comfort Amenities

Throw Blankets

When there’s a chill in the air, I love these throws from a Hawaii-based company called Cariloha. They’re actually made of bamboo, so they’re environmentally conscious and really soft. Choose the thickness depending on the time of year of your event — plush throws for colder weather in the winter and fall and knit ones for warmer seasons.

Parasols & Fans

A parasol is lighter and more fashionable than an umbrella and is a perfect choice for providing shade from the hot midday sun so your guests won’t have to squint to see you walk down the aisle. Another nice warm weather item to increase guest comfort is a fan. You can color coordinate parasols and fans with your wedding style for a chic and seamless addition. Luna Bazaar has a great selection of both.

Foldable Flats

These ballet slipper-style shoes are beyond comfortable! Instead of offering flip flops to guests with tired feet who still want to dance, the Mindy Weiss Rollasole Collection is in a nice looking champagne color and each pair comes with a bag for women to stash their stilettos. If you’re on a budget, there’s a box of 12 pairs labeled “For the Bride and her Sole Sisters” that’s a fun option.

Cool Hand Towels

When it’s very warm, I like to offer really beautiful, cool hand towels. We spritz them with eucalyptus or lavender and keep them cold for a refresher at a summer affair.

Bathroom Amenities

Heel Protectors

Solemates are heel protectors that you slip onto stilettos to prevent guests from sinking into the grass or damaging their favorite pumps. They’re sold in bridal bundles of 12 pairs. People always steal them!

Anti-inflammatory Spray

Soul Serum calms nerve ending irritation and halts swelling for guests who are regretting wearing their highest or newest shoes. Relief lasts two hours — hopefully through last dance.

Blister Relief

Blister Blocker is a clear, unscented balm you can put on the bottom of your aching feet to reduce friction and provide protection from blisters.

Disposable Toothbrushes

Colgate Wisps are disposable toothbrushes with toothpaste already on them for fresher breath. The pick at the end helps dislodge pesky food bits.
