About Amy Soper Photography

I should mention that I am, in fact, an Amelia. My birth certificate lists the name that was constantly yelled at me when I was in trouble. And the name itself is just great. But now that we are friends, call me Amy. Fun fact: Up until the instant I was born, I was tiny Zachary William with the green nursery. In reality, according to the legend, when my mother was giving birth, she convinced my father to change his name from Zachariah to Zachary. But to Scott and Nancy's total astonishment, it turns out I was a girl when I finally entered this world only four days before Halloween. As a result, they made the swift and skillful decision to adjust their plans in order to devise something better suited for their newly discovered pioneering daughter. I would have been quite content to be a lady named Zach, but they didn't ask. Amelia Elizabeth it was, then. Do not misunderstand me; I do adore my name. But when something like that is directed at me, my mind immediately jumps to my own wrongdoing from childhood, opportunistic calls from mayoral campaigns, and emails from wealthy Nigerian princes. The words "Amelia Elizabeth Soper, this room is NOT clean!" can now be heard from my mother. Therefore, for the benefit of our brand-new, blossoming, and undoubtedly fantastic friendship... Just call me Amy, please. Okay, now that we've cleared that up, there's one more thing you should know about me. You know, despite the fact that I believe myself to be very independent, I have always been that girl who abhors missing out on a good time. Even though I don't ski, you better believe that if a trip is scheduled, I'll be there to sip hot toddies in the lodge till you return. I mean, I'm not going to skip out on an incredibly enjoyable skiing weekend just because I can't ski. For me, getting married is sort of an extension of that. I want to be there to document all of the joy—overwhelming, emotional joy—fun and excitement. I put a lot of effort into getting to know each of my clients because I want you to think of me as a friend on your wedding day. When I arrive on the big day, you'll both just think that since we both know each other, Hello, this is my friend Amy. Awesome! The reason being that: Knowing there is a person you can trust in front of the camera makes it much easier to unwind.
