About Baked It Myself
CHERYL CANTER-VALESELLA grew up in Southern California with three other sisters, her father, and her mother, who also ran a catering business. Cheryl learned the significance of traditional comfort food cooked totally from scratch at a young age. She gained broad understanding of food far earlier than usual, thanks to informal lectures from her mother and kitchen exploration. Cheryl worked as a merchandiser in the fashion sector for fifteen years as an adult, away from the kitchen. Despite her success, she eventually chose to pursue her life's ambition, and in 1998, she launched Baked it Myself! from the comfort of her own home. Her trademark mix of American cuisine with European elegance was informed by her profound admiration for France's more nuanced pastries and exquisite dishes. Cheryl maintains her quest to deliver comforting comfort food alongside inventive dishes to gratify every palate under just about any circumstance, armed with her passion for honest food, her lifetime real-world culinary education, and her culturally broad palette.
