My work has been published in magazines, such as Black Bride, Charleston Magazine, South Asian Bride, The Carolinas Magazine, & Charleston Weddings. I was recently named one of the top wedding photographers in Charleston, SC by The Knot. Like with anything I do, I put much heart, work, and energy into photography. Yet, the most rewarding part is still the emotions, and happy messages I get from my clients. Nothing charges and empowers me more! I still sincerely love what I do for a living and the proof is evident with my big smile throughout your wedding day! My love for photography was cemented when my grandfather gave me two of his vintage film cameras. I was at an art college in London at the time and fell in love with exploring Europe & Asia behind the lens of a camera. I quickly changed my college major to photography. Following graduating college, I got a job at a fashion studio in the UK. This hands-on experience greatly helped me build my confidence behind the camera as well as my communication skills. Upon returning to the United States in 2006, I started my business, Leigh Hayward Photography. Today with over twenty years of professional experience, I feel like I am able to help my clients quickly relax which results in authentic photos true to them. Apart from photography, I'm also a mama of two. I love getting outside and exploring the Lowcountry or traveling to new ones with my family. You can often find me hitting up yoga classes to slow down my mental to-do list and b-r-e-a-t-h-e. This comes in handy during your wedding day when I need to bring calm and focus. I am here to provide my clients with an amazing, stress-free wedding experience.
