About Make It Happen Weddings
Make it a reality! Wedding Coordination and More... is the result of 38 years of event planning experience and a lifelong dream. Robin, a UCLA French major, aspired to work in Europe. She moved to France in quest of work after college. Robin returned to California and worked for IBM as an Education Specialist, where she fell in love with teaching. She completed her secondary teaching certificate at UC Irvine and went on to teach French at Mission Viejo High School and Orange Coast Community College. In 1981, Robin began her career as an event planner in northern California. Director of Catering Sales at Maxwell's Plum in Ghirardelli Square, Wedding Sales Specialist at the Claremont Resort and Spa in Berkeley, Assistant Director of Catering at the Hilton Palacio Del Rio in San Antonio, Texas, Director of Catering Sales and Marketing for UCLA Catering, and Wedding Sales Specialist at the Sir Francis Drake, a Kimpton Hotel, where she was voted "Best of Weddings" by the Knot in 2010, 2011, and 2012. Prior to starting her own company, Robin worked as a Wedding Sales Specialist at the Westin St. Francis on Union Square. Brides selected her and the St. Francis "Best of Weddings 2013," which was their first award from The Knot under Robin's direction. After four years of a long daily travel from her home to San Francisco and more than 500 career weddings under her belt, Robin decided to fulfill a lifelong ambition by starting Make It Happen!
