Chef Karen Smith-Warner is the Founder and Owner of the restaurant. Karin is a self-taught chef who has attended cooking classes in cities such as Florence and Santorini in Greece, as well as the Culinary Institute of America in Greystone and San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. You will benefit from Karen's mastery of organizational details in order to create an elegant event while keeping things as simple as possible for your guests. It is her love of beauty, sense of style, and intuitive understanding of people that will shine through in your event, allowing her to visualize exactly what her clients want. Executive Sous Chef, Melissa Martin Scott The summer before she graduated from culinary school, Melissa began working for Savoir Faire, where she immediately recognized Karen as a kindred spirit with whom she could connect. Karen's simple flavors and fresh menus reminded her of the food she had fallen in love with during her travels through Europe, so she decided to stay. Melissa has progressed from prep cook to sous chef after seven wedding seasons in a row now under her belt. The collaborative and creative environment at Savoir Faire has enabled her to broaden her expertise to include breads and pastries as well as other baked goods. Susie Criley is a woman who works in the fashion industry. Susie has been working in the catering industry in Santa Barbara for nearly two decades, and she has been a member of the Savoir Faire team for approximately 15 years. Susie is not only in charge of hand-picking our stellar wait staff and serving as our bar manager extraordinaire, but she is also willing to fill in for anyone in any position that needs filling, from expo to prep cook. We are extremely fortunate to have her as a member of our team. She takes care of everything so that the chefs can concentrate on preparing delicious food for you.
