Stephen B. Kolins has always been a creative and original designer who has dabbled in a variety of artistic mediums. Stephen's first step into design was organizing theatrical lighting for rock concerts after studying theatre, film, and photography in college. Later in life, he worked in the design sector with his father, eventually bringing his creative talents to a number of New York fashion houses. Stephen taught himself the Latin and English taxonomy of plants, and then began working in the flower market, his first steps toward becoming an event designer, after imagining a change of course and understanding that he could combine his love of nature with his talents in design and drama. Needless to say, Stephen takes his art form very seriously, and knows that this is not only his passion; it’s his calling. Stephen's first event design was his own wedding, which took place at the Rainbow Room. Stephen was employed by a prominent floral design company after honing his unique style, where he was rapidly renowned for the creativity of his designs and ability to integrate and materialize his clients' objectives, frequently giving outcomes beyond what they had dreamed feasible. Stephen established SBK Associates, Inc. in 1997 as his own platform for his artistic talents, where he continues to develop distinctive and inventive designs for all types of events. SBK Associates, Inc. is based in New York, where he lives with his wife and enjoys fishing, decadent cuisine, traveling, and rock concerts.
