Executive Cook Chef D'Andre Carter has a national reputation as a top fine-dining chef, but barbecue is his true love, obsession! It all began at his grandmother's house on Chicago's South Side. Chef Carter learnt there, while assisting mom in the preparation of Sunday dinners for family and friends, that it's not just the flavors that make a meal memorable, but also the people you share it with. Food that tastes good and helps you feel good is called good food. Chef Carter moved on to Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts after graduating from his grandmother's kitchen and worked his way up in Chicago's fine-dining sector. Chef Carter is now well-known for his gourmet approach to ordinary BBQ. His trademark sauce combines St. Louis ingredients with a spice mixture he created himself. He's constantly refining his menu and experimenting with smoking procedures, as though he's a student of the craft.
