  Founded in 1958 by the Junior League of Longview, the Longview Museum of Fine Arts (LMFA) has grown from a small annual art invitational into a cultural cornerstone of East Texas. The museum has been located on Tyler Street in downtown Longview since 1998, and its permanent collection has grown to nearly 1,200 works, including paintings, woodcuts, photographs, sculpture, and works on paper, centered on early Texas Regionalist art from the 1930s through the 1970s. On saw-pierced and riveted brass lighting, and woodwork completed in beech, hand carved woodwork on the pews, the Little Chapel in-the-Woods' rich symbolism delicately conveys "Woman Ministering to Human Needs." Architect O'Neil Ford designed the Chapel, which is 90 feet long and 24 feet broad. During the Great Depression, it was built as a project of the National Youth Administration and dedicated by former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. All of the spaces have been completely rebuilt, and there are numerous restrooms and a full caterer's kitchen available. The Creswell, Creamer, Guimarin, Markaverich, and Northridge families collaborated to refurbish the Comanche County square on the north side. Two of the three structures purchased were in a state of decay and were set to be demolished. The two-story building, which had been abandoned for nearly forty years, was in fantastic condition, and the top level was a time capsule of stunning early twentieth-century design. The Knights of Pythias chapter in Comanche County used to be housed in the two-story structure. Rathbone Hall, the main event area, is named after the Knights' founder, Justus H Rathbone. These structures have held local enterprises throughout history, including the Comanche Chief newspaper, an opera house, a hardware store, women's retail fashion, and a drug store. The corner location will be occupied by Stone Eagle Beer Garden, which is set to open in 2017.   The scenery and tranquil environment of The Orchard at Martin's Pecanville are unrivaled in this part of Texas. This lovely red metal barn in the center of an orchard is suitable for your celebration and is located in the picturesque scenery of East Texas. This location offers a variety of amenities that will allow you to customize your event while still providing many of the necessities for you and your guests. Outdoor ceremonies can be transferred indoors (A/C and heating provided) in the event of severe weather, with seating for up to 200 people. You have the option of doing your own catering and decorating, selecting providers from our list, or bringing your own! You can have an outdoor ceremony or reception on our patio area, which is strung with romantic lights and shaded by our beautiful 100-year-old pecan trees, or an indoor ceremony inside the eye-catching red barn, which is also strung with lights and has concrete floors that are stamped and stained to look like rustic hardwood floors.
