HISTORY OF THE VENUE The Brake & Clutch building was constructed in the 1930s and served as the home of Brake & Clutch Service Co. for many years before closing in the 1980s. When our culinary and photographic services are combined, we can provide a complete turnkey solution for any special event or occasion. The antique hardwood floors and 15-foot brick walls of the venue provide as a stunning background for any theme or event. Two 8-foot butcher block top bars, two 12-foot butcher block top buffet tables, lantern centerpieces, cocktail tables and round and rectangular tables are included in the main room's 110-by-40-foot footprint. Our ceiling and wall string lights provide a romantic ambiance that would complement any theme, and our color changing spot lights and accent pin spot lights are included with all of our rentals to further enhance the romantic ambiance. It was originally constructed in 1904 for the C.H. Alexander family and is an unusually well-proportioned design of English influenced architecture with a neo-classical influence that is still standing today. The Dallas Woman's Forum purchased the building in 1930, and it was refurbished and redecorated in 1967. The front columns, which are made of Vermont granite and are two storeys tall, are a focal point. The gateway roof is supported by the columns, and the entablature that surrounds the roof is basic in design.
