Built in 1822, the Aldrich House is a National Historic Landmark located on the beautiful and historic East Side of Providence. The house was presented to the Rhode Island Historical Society in 1974 by the heirs of Winthrop W. Aldrich, a former Ambassador to Great Britain, and it also serves as the Rhode Island Historical Society headquarters, hosting RIHS special events and programs by appointment. Robert S. Burroughs hired noted Rhode Island architect John Holden Greene to build the house in 1821; it was completed in 1822, the same year the Rhode Island Historical Society was founded. The Aldrich family later shaped national history from this address: Nelson W. Aldrich rose to the U.S. Senate in 1881 and helped lay the groundwork for the Federal Reserve, his daughter Abby married John D. Rockefeller Jr., and their son, Vice President Nelson Rockefeller, was named after him. During World War II, another daughter, Lucy Aldrich, sheltered Scottish evacuee children at the house.

Our Grand Ballroom, which overlooks Warwick Neck and is available year-round, is available for events. The Ballroom is connected to the Back 9, which includes an outdoor terrace and bar. Front 9 is another option for smaller meetings and events, and it is also available. The Seaside Terrace, which overlooks the bay and offers a panoramic view, is available for wedding ceremonies.

The Reserve on Dorrance occupies the former Federal Reserve building at the heart of downtown Providence, and its interior still carries that institutional grandeur. Gold beveled coffered ceilings, dramatic stained-glass windows, and original 1920s marble run throughout the room, giving the space an ornate, historic backdrop that few event venues can match. The venue accommodates celebrations of up to 375 guests, hosting everything from weddings, engagement parties, and bridal showers to birthday parties, corporate galas, meetings, and fundraisers. Overlooking Newport Harbor from 30 Bowens Wharf, The Landing Restaurant pairs waterfront views with coastal dining in the heart of historic downtown Newport. The restaurant's menu centers on fresh seafood, raw bar selections, and seasonal specialties, served alongside a full bar and ocean breezes off the harbor. The Landing regularly hosts private dinners, bridal showers, anniversaries, corporate gatherings, wedding rehearsal dinners, and wedding receptions, with capacity for a full reception of up to 200 guests. Events can range from an intimate cocktail party with passed hors d'oeuvres to a large-scale celebration, with a private events menu and catering packages available for groups of any size. With Newport's largest private ballroom and a heart-shaped staircase, Rosecliff, built in 1902, was the setting for many of the most fabulous social events of the Gilded Age, including a fairytale dinner and party featuring magician Harry Houdini. Rosecliff continues in that tradition today, and has also been featured in many Hollywood films, including The Great Gatsby, True Lies, Evening and 27 Dresses.

The Theatre’s renovations are extensive for both inside and outside of the building and have been made to create the ultimate event experience. There is a brand new raised stage and also previous obstructions on the ground have been removed, in order to give customers the best possible site views to the stage. The stage will have a brand new state-of-the-art sound and lighting system. Artists will have all new dressing rooms to better accommodate their visit. Woodbine Cottage is a historic 5,000-square-foot Victorian mansion in the heart of downtown Newport, Rhode Island. Built in 1873, it was originally the private residence of George Champlin Mason, Newport's first resident architect, who trained in Switzerland, France, and Germany before going on to design roughly 150 Gilded Age mansions throughout the city. The 23-room house has been restored and retains its period character, with each guest room individually appointed to reflect the home's history. Today the cottage hosts corporate gatherings, wedding parties, birthday and bachelor or bachelorette celebrations, reunions, and holiday parties for groups up to 150 people. Standard accommodations comfortably house 12 to 20 guests, with tables and chairs on hand for up to 20. For weddings, Woodbine Cottage offers wedding planning and event planning services and is within walking distance of several other Newport venues, including the Chanler at Cliff Walk, the International Tennis Hall of Fame, and the Newport Art Museum.
