Beautifully renovated, Darlington Hall offers an open floor plan with skylit double-height ceilings embedded with 12 speakers. Adjacent from the hall is the kitchen with professional-grade equipment. This space is perfect for receptions, fundraisers, school assemblies, classes and seminars. The Gray Room has sliding glass walls adding flexibility and opportunity to the space. This room has access to the kitchen, as well as use of the adjacent gallery, ideal for classes, meetings, art shows, parties, and more. The Chapel boasts with beauty from the stained-glass windows and stenciled walls. This space is ideal for intimate concerts and performances, readings, and small meeting’s – pairs well with Darlington Hall adjacent to the kitchen, for a lunch or buffet gathering. With 80 ft-high gothic-style vaulted ceilings, balcony seating, stained-glass windows, a built-in sound system and Organ and Steinway piano, the Nave is a beautiful space for concerts, performances, large lectures or panel discussions, and graduation ceremonies. This space is paired well with Darlington Hall, adjacent to the kitchen, for a lunch gathering, buffet service, or cocktail reception. The pews in the Nave can be removed to accommodate special events.

Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum is housed in philanthropist and steel magnate Andrew Carnegie’s former mansion. Built at the turn of the century, its fin de siècle interiors feature ornate coffered oak ceilings, carved boiserie paneling, custom-made wallcoverings, and a conservatory with Palladian bronze and glass doors. A top-to-bottom interior and exterior renovation sensitively restored the grandeur of the mansion’s exquisite craftsmanship and injected contemporary architectural features to transform one of New York’s grandest residences into a dynamic, dramatic setting for gatherings of all sizes. Our space Our dining room’s design is inspired by Lebanon in the 60s; pale ash wood contrasts with custom-pressed teal tiles, an abundance of plants, floor to ceiling windows on three sides. Retractable glass doors divide our dining room from our seasonal terrace which sprawls out over the East River and the Brooklyn Bridge Park. The space is surrounded by a lush planter which features a bounty of herbs, grasses, and small flowering plants from the North-East. It’s a gorgeous space for an on-site ceremony or cocktail hour, and it’s part of any private event held here. Our cuisine Beyond our physical space, our emphasis is on excellent food and warm, gracious hospitality. We want you and your guests to feel completely at ease from the moment you walk through our doors. Our menus take inspiration from the Mediterranean coastline, and we offer both buffet and family-style options. Our wine list features natural wines from the coastal Mediterranean region. Our cocktail menu highlights delicious riffs on classic drinks (think G&T’s with Turmeric and Lemongrass) and beers from local producers like Other Half and Folksbier. Our pricing We use a flat-fee structure, similar to an event minimum spend. This pricing is designed to cover almost everything, and includes food and beverage for up to 70 guests seated or 85 standing during peak season. While you are totally welcome to look into additional decor details, everything that is used for service is included in your private event. This covers the basics like glassware, plates, flatware, and napkins, but it also covers use of our votive candles, bud vases, table numbers, cake stand, easels, etc. We're also happy to create and print personalized menus for your event in-house. Evening events are typically 6pm - 11pm and daytime events are typically held from 11am - 3pm. New York sales tax, gratuity, and a 5% administrative fee are applied to event subtotals.
