Non-religious legal marriage ceremonies performed by a government official or registrar are known as civil wedding services. Wedding ceremonies are not presided over by officiants or registrars in the city of San José. Couples can either bring their own officiant or plan a time with the County of Santa Clara to have a designated officiant offered to them for their wedding ceremony at City Hall. The Rotunda at City Hall in San José can be used for wedding ceremonies and/or parties. The building is a modern architectural marvel, standing 110 feet tall and featuring terrazzo flooring and glass walls that let in plenty of natural light.
