  • Featured photo from Amélie DC Bistro & Wine Bar

Amélie DC Bistro & Wine Bar

1315 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20005, USA
    • Spaces for 80-100 Guests

Amélie – Washington, D.C. Step through the door and Logan Circle falls away. Candlelight flickers off wine glasses, the low hum of conversation mixes with the clink of cutlery, and somewhere behind the bar, a cork is being pulled from a bottle that took someone real care to choose. This is Amélie — and for one evening, it's yours. It started, as the best things do, with a group of friends who loved food, loved wine, and loved France a little too much to keep it to themselves. In 2006, that love became a small bistro on Polk Street in San Francisco. Word spread. The concept traveled — to Fairfax, to West 8th Street in New York, to Amsterdam Avenue — until it finally found its way to Logan Circle, D.C., where it's been welcoming neighbors and newcomers alike ever since. Every Amélie has its own kitchen, its own wine list, its own regulars who know exactly which stool is "theirs." But they all share the same instinct: pour generously, cook honestly, and make people feel like they've just walked into a favorite corner of Paris. At its heart, Amélie is a wine bar — a deep, thoughtfully curated by-the-glass list built for lingering, for toasting, for second (and third) pours. Around it, Executive Chef Anthony Lemortellec turns out French classics and seasonal plates that taste like they were made for exactly this kind of night. Bring your people. Whether it's an intimate dinner, a cocktail hour that stretches past last call, or a weekend brunch worth talking about for weeks, Amélie sets the table and lets the evening take it from there. Host your next celebration here — and give your guests a taste of Paris, right in the heart of D.C.

WHEN BLUEJACKET WAS DESIGNED, IT WAS WITHOUT BOUNDARIES IN MIND, ALLOWING BEER DIRECTOR GREG ENGERT AND HIS TEAM OF BREWERS TO CREATE BEERS THAT COVER THE WIDEST RANGE OF STYLES AND FLAVORS POSSIBLE. Understanding and respect for the traditions and techniques of classic brewing coexist at Blue Jacket with a spirit of constant experimentation, innovation, and collaboration that results in delectable beers that highlight seasonality, culinary inspiration, and historical interpretation. BEER RANGE FROM INTENSELY FLAVORED TO SUBTLY NUANCED; BEERS THAT OFFER SOMETHING DISTINCTIVE AND SATISFYING FOR EVERY PALATE AND EVERY PLATE; AND BEERS THAT REFLECT EQUALLY THE PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE OF GENUINE CRAFT BREWING VERY SOON, THE BREWERY WILL BEGIN SHIPPING BEER TO CAREFULLY SELECTED RESTAURANTS, BARS, AND RETAIL OUTLETS ACROSS THE REGIONAL AREA. In the restaurant and bar, there is a constantly rotating selection of twenty BlueJacket beers and five BlueJacket cask ales, all of which are poured at the appropriate temperature and are available only on-site; the majority of the beers and cask ales are only available on-site. Executive Chef Marcelle Afram oversees the kitchen, which refines and expands on the classic fare found in beer halls and public houses while showcasing the freshest, most locally sourced products available in the area. In the same way that the brewery itself is distinctive, the space that BLUEJACKET occupies is as well. It is one of only a few genuine industrial buildings still standing in Washington, DC. The building, known as the BOILERMAKER SHOPS, was built in 1919 as a part of the Navy Yards Ship and Munitions Manufacturing Complex, and it is one of the few true industrial buildings still standing in the nation's capital. WHEN WE ADD A NEW, VERY DIFFERENT CHAPTER TO THEIR HISTORY, WE HOPE YOU WILL FIND IT JUST AS INSPIRING AS WE DID.
