Oakland Cemetery, one of Atlanta's most beautiful and distinctive settings, can accommodate events for two or 200 people. The Historic Oakland Foundation will assist you in planning a party, wedding, or other private event at Oakland Cemetery, whether it is for two or 200 visitors. Funeral home weddings are becoming increasingly popular, and Atlanta's historic Oakland Cemetery is a particularly gorgeous location for an outdoor ceremony. As a Victorian garden cemetery and the site of Atlanta's first park, we're continuing on the Victorian tradition of making Oakland a place to commemorate the lives and loves of the city's 70,000 citizens, as did the Victorians. A covered space that can accommodate up to 50 people is available in addition to open-air locations that may accommodate up to 250 guests in total. When not in use as a functioning greenhouse, the Beaumont Allen Greenhouse may be rented out for special events from September through May. Depending on the layout, the greenhouse can be arranged in a variety of different ways. During the fall, winter, and spring, the Beaumont Allen Greenhouse is available for rent to the general public. Oakland's 48 acres offer a variety of unique and attractive settings for a wide range of private events of varied sizes and scope.   The Historic DeKalb Courthouse is the ideal location for wedding ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, holiday parties, fundraisers, and other special events of all kinds. This beautiful courthouse, located in Decatur, Georgia, just minutes away from Atlanta, serves as a spectacular backdrop for any historic event. With stunning arched windows and marble walls, the main event area is a sight to behold. A total of 150 guests may be accommodated at tables in the venue, which has lots of natural light and hardwood floors. A cocktail hour or a check-in area can be held in the lobby of the hotel. The Historic DeKalb Courthouse, which is located in Decatur, Georgia, only minutes away from Atlanta, is the ideal location for wedding ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, holiday parties, fund-raisers, and other special events. You will have the perfect setting for your historic event with the marble walls and wonderfully arched windows. During all evening and weekend rentals, guests will have access to the Courtroom, Harrison Room, Lobby, Groom's Room, and Bridal Suite for a total of 8 hours. The first two hours are usually devoted to setup, while the last hour is devoted to cleaning. The remaining 5 hours can be utilized for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and/or reception, according on your preferences. The ceremony and reception are both held in the Courtroom, and there is usually a room flip as guests enjoy cocktail hour in the lobby before the wedding.   Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum occupies the historic William Scarbrough House, a landmark antebellum mansion built in 1819 for one of the principal investors behind the first steam-powered transatlantic crossing.   Miller Union is named after the former Miller Union Stockyards that occupied one full city block in Atlanta’s old meatpacking district in the 1880s.   In 1836, Judge John Harris erected the residence as his townhouse. He possessed a huge property in Covington that was robbed by federal troops in 1864 when Sherman's march to the sea got underway. Sherman and Harris kept journals detailing their thirty-day stay at the Harris Plantation, which may be found at the Atlanta History Center. Following the Civil War with the property changing hands, Robert Franklin Wright purchased the property for $1,000. The Cedars is the name Robert and Salina gave to their home.
