  The Ruins at Kellum Valley is a historic outdoor wedding venue nestled in the North Georgia mountains, about one hour north of Atlanta. The property traces its roots to the early 1900s, when Elizabeth Carnegie Kellum — niece of steel magnate Andrew Carnegie — purchased more than 1,000 acres to establish a working farm. A three-story stone dormitory and school built for underprivileged children burned in 1928, leaving behind the striking stone foundations and twin chimneys that now define the venue's landscape. Owner DeAnne Major acquired the land in 1996, cleared the ruins from overgrowth, and hosted the first wedding on the property in 2005. Since establishing The Ruins at Kellum Valley Weddings in 2006, the venue has hosted more than 450 all-inclusive celebrations. The property offers over ten distinct outdoor ceremony sites set among the historic ruins and mountain scenery. All-inclusive packages feature in-house gourmet catering, a three-tiered wedding cake, farm tables and chiavari chairs, full linen service, and a dedicated day-of coordinator. A white wedding tent with chandelier and string lights is available alongside the open-air stone ruins as an alternate reception setting. The venue hosts a maximum of 15 weddings per season, running April through October, and operates by appointment only.

  Surrounded by fine homes, in the shadow of skyscrapers, is a small oasis….the delightful village of Vinings. At its heart are two historic gems, The Pace House and The Old Pavilion. Wrapped in nineteenth-century charm, they provide the perfect setting for today’s weddings and special corporate or private events. The Historic Pace House was built from the remains of the 17-room antebellum home of Vinings founder Hardy Pace. The house served as General Sherman’s temporary headquarters where he planned the siege of Atlanta. After the Civil War, Hardy’s son, Solomon Pace, returned home to find the family home in ruins. Sometime around 1870, Solomon rebuilt the home – albeit more modestly- from doors, windows and remnants of several small cabins that survived the fire of the main house. Today The Pace House consists of a parlor, a dining room, and a bridal suite which can be used as a private retreat for the bride and her attendants or event host. This modest frame house has a sense of history so tangible that you feel it from the moment you enter. Adjacent to The Pace House, The Old Pavilion, itself a Vinings landmark, was a place where old Atlanta Society entertained and danced the night away during the late 1800s and until the early 1900s. Today guests can use this historic property to make history for themselves. With a warm, rustic ambiance, The Pace House and The Old Pavilion feature a versatile reception area that is perfect for any occasion. Both buildings are connected to a spacious open deck area which can be a beautiful site for a ceremony and may also be transformed into your dance floor or cocktail area for your event. The Pace House and The Old Pavilion are operated by The Vinings Historic Preservation Society, a non-profit organization.   Proctor Farm is a 23-acre private wedding estate in Rome, Georgia, set within the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains. The property was originally built as a concert venue by owners Kathy and Michael Proctor, who hosted performances by members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Marshall Tucker Band, and Charlie Daniels Band on the grounds. Over time, the Proctors expanded the property into a full wedding venue, constructing dedicated ceremony and reception spaces that blend rustic character with vintage elegance. The estate offers four distinct event areas. The Outdoor Chapel is a permanent structure of stacked stone, timber, and stained-glass windows, lined with church pews for open-air ceremonies. The Indoor Chapel wraps eight 19th-century stained-glass windows around a warmly lit interior, entered by a cobblestone walkway past a fountain and evergreen landscape. The Banquet Hall seats up to 200 guests beneath crystal chandeliers. The Saloon — a converted horse barn — provides a stage, DJ stand, photo booth, dance floor, and a second-floor balcony, built on the same space where the Proctors once hosted live music. Each event is supported by Kathy Proctor as wedding coordinator and director, with Michael Proctor serving as sound engineer and designer. The venue hosts one wedding per weekend.
