    The University Club of Portland traces its roots to 1898, when a group of college alumni founded the club in downtown Portland. Its permanent home, designed by the architectural firm Whidden & Lewis, opened in 1913 and remains the club's clubhouse today, with elegant gathering rooms, rich woodwork, and a dedicated library. That historic Tudor-style clubhouse now serves as a downtown Portland venue for weddings and private events, with a Ballroom, Gold Room, Library, Lobby, and Lounge among the rooms available for ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, and celebrations.
