Richard and Shea Lyn bought the historic house and land in 2008 and turned it into Texas' most unusual wedding venue. The farmhouse has been set aside for the bridal party, with a lovely bridal suite and lots of space for the ladies to rest and prepare for the big day. Just behind the house, a 6,000 square foot rustic-elegant reception pavilion sits next to a beautifully groomed lawn and white gazebo.     Rock Lake Ranch is a working ranch owned and operated by the Geffert family, which has been in the family for several generations. They are sixth generation Texans who take tremendous pleasure in their ancestors and the history of their home state. This gorgeous property, which was named after Rock Lake Creek, was formerly a camping area for Native Americans who were lured to the spring-fed creek that cut through the exposed sandstone cliffs. The Gefferts' great-grandparents came in the Piedmont area in the mid-1850s, when they were born. During the 1920s, their grandparents, Annie Lee and Johnny Churchwell, were still operating a self-sufficient farmhouse on the acreage they inherited. The Writer's Cottage, a shotgun-style residence built in the early 1900s in Houston's Fourth Ward, was formerly a popular hangout for writers. When it was transported to the ranch in 2005, it had been authentically restored by volunteers and professionals from Historic Houston. The Old Gibbons Creek bridge, a steel-truss bridge built in the early twentieth century and affectionately known as the "Shanghai Bridge" by locals, originally stood a few miles away. It had been abandoned since the 1980s, but it was relocated and rebuilt in 2009, and it now serves as a picturesque gateway to the Waterfront Pavilion and other outdoor spaces at Rock Lake Ranch. There are still remnants of their grandparents' first home on Rock Lake Ranch, including the Allen House and wooden barn area, as well as the old well house and cistern where their grandparents' original farmhouse previously stood.     The Goldbergs are our surnames. Our family came together in the spring of 2016 to develop this venue with the goal of providing a calm setting for the most wonderful occasions. The structures were framed by brothers. The stained glass was produced by grandparents. Interior touches were put together by siblings, cousins, uncles, significant others, and friends to help bring this idea to life. We believe that the joy you experience with the people you love should be the focus of any celebration, so we're here to take care of some of the logistics. Stillwater Meadow is a wonderful event site in Aledo, Texas, called after the property's delightful pond and lovely meadow. For any wedding party to enjoy, our large site has a gorgeous wedding chapel, a tastefully fitted reception hall, and separate get-ready spaces. Wedding weekends are held at Stillwater Meadow, which provides an idyllic location. All rental packages include full access to a storage area stocked with decor for your usage. The Bridal House features a kitchen, mirrored salon, and expansive front and back porches. The Groom's Retreat is housed in a 1905 barn that has been refurbished. It has a calm ambiance as well as a patio space. Stained glass, mosaic windows, and antique pews adorn our Chapel. This medieval setting is enhanced by an ancient bronze bell and other wooden decorations. The sides of the chapel open up to provide the scenery of being outdoors with the comfort of being indoors for those who prefer to stage an outdoor ceremony. On-site, an antique rowboat can be taken out on the lake for unusual wedding picture options. Founded in 2016 by Karen Bander and Jaclyn Bander, the venue hosts weddings, birthday parties, and corporate events in a rustic, country setting. The property's main barn spans 3,400 square feet, with a 30-by-60-foot main area that comfortably seats 110 guests for dinner, dancing, and a DJ setup, and holds up to 150 guests at max occupancy. The adjoining "Saloon" bar area opens onto both the outdoor patio and the indoor main space, with wine glasses available for rent, two mini fridges, and ample counter space. Built in the 1920s, the Old Red Barn has recently been refurbished with climate-controlled heating and air conditioning. The 4,300-square-foot barn has a saloon bar, toilets, and a covered porch area that can accommodate up to 250 people for a sit-down reception. The party continues after dinner on the outside dance floor, which is lighted by market illumination. The location has a two-story timber cabin that can be used as a bridal suite or a groom and his party's getting-ready room.     Cotton Creek Barn is a family-owned wedding and event venue in Tahoka, Texas, set in the middle of a working cotton field in the farming community of New Home. Owners Kent and Mitzi Bruton, a longtime area farmer and teacher, spent about two years building most of the venue themselves before it hosted its first wedding in July 2013. The property incorporates reclaimed materials gathered from the original New Home Cotton Gin, abandoned barns and farmhouses, and fences from around the community, along with vintage signage collected over the years. The venue's Main Barn, built from rusted tin and reclaimed fence wood, holds up to around 300 guests and serves as the setting for wedding ceremonies and receptions, along with birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, and other events. The Olde Grain Barn, the property's first addition, dates to 1951 and seats up to 150 guests for a ceremony; it doubles as a rain backup space and a spot for rehearsal dinners on its adjoining patio. Additional features on the grounds include a bridal suite, a groom's quarters known as the Old Farm House, and Mabel, a more than 35-foot elm tree that shades outdoor ceremonies.
