Let your creativity go wild with weddings, corporate events, and family gatherings. Our Story The trees attracted us when we first walked into the land that would become Dos Arbolitos. A unique mix of towering bull pines, large post oaks, pin oaks, burr oaks, and live oaks grew alongside massive post oaks, pin oaks, burr oaks, and live oaks. The forest was alive with birds and there were acres of yellow coreopsis. Our goal has been to make this incredible setting our home while maintaining the natural beauty and calm that drew us to the property in the first place. We wanted to retain the solitude, tranquility, and serenity of the old forest by surrounding our new home inside it, as well as develop and conserve the unique woodland setting we had fallen in love with. We wanted to capture the sounds and sensations of the woods while also honoring the land and paying homage to early twentieth-century Texas. Everything we did in the construction of Dos Arbolitos was done with a distinct feeling of care. We tried to remember that special feeling we had the first day we walked onto the land and were calmed by the cool breezes in the middle of summer, enchanted by the choir of birds singing in the virgin forest, and eventually swept away by the natural woodland beauty of this place we knew would become our home with each step we took.   The Hummingbird House

  Horticultural expert Tom Tinguely lived in his country home for 25 years, manicuring his gardens and nurturing carefully chosen plants and flowers with love. In 2009 he moved downtown to be closer to his garden center, a South Congress landmark called The Great Outdoors. He stayed at the country home on the weekends, often hosting private parties for his friends and family. When Tom’s niece was engaged that same year, she searched for the perfect outdoor venue in Austin, and Tom graciously offered his magnificent gardens to host her wedding. Tom’s partner Danny Hatt, who coordinated events in Charleston, South Carolina moved to Austin in 2009 and he was eager to jump on board to take on the planning aspects of the wedding. His eye for style added the touches that transformed a small garden party into an elegant event and his experience in event coordination made the wedding a successful and memorable occasion. This garden wedding inspired Tom and Danny to open The Hummingbird House together and our first couple, Nadine and Andy, became husband and wife on April 10th, 2009! Since then, The Hummingbird House has hosted hundreds of events including weddings, charity events, anniversary parties, birthday celebrations, vow renewals, elopement galas, holiday gatherings, corporate events, graduation parties, and photo shoots!

  Rock Lake Ranch is a working ranch owned and operated by the Geffert family, which has been in the family for several generations. They are sixth generation Texans who take tremendous pleasure in their ancestors and the history of their home state. This gorgeous property, which was named after Rock Lake Creek, was formerly a camping area for Native Americans who were lured to the spring-fed creek that cut through the exposed sandstone cliffs. The Gefferts' great-grandparents came in the Piedmont area in the mid-1850s, when they were born. During the 1920s, their grandparents, Annie Lee and Johnny Churchwell, were still operating a self-sufficient farmhouse on the acreage they inherited. The Writer's Cottage, a shotgun-style residence built in the early 1900s in Houston's Fourth Ward, was formerly a popular hangout for writers. When it was transported to the ranch in 2005, it had been authentically restored by volunteers and professionals from Historic Houston. The Old Gibbons Creek bridge, a steel-truss bridge built in the early twentieth century and affectionately known as the "Shanghai Bridge" by locals, originally stood a few miles away. It had been abandoned since the 1980s, but it was relocated and rebuilt in 2009, and it now serves as a picturesque gateway to the Waterfront Pavilion and other outdoor spaces at Rock Lake Ranch. There are still remnants of their grandparents' first home on Rock Lake Ranch, including the Allen House and wooden barn area, as well as the old well house and cistern where their grandparents' original farmhouse previously stood.   Our Personal Narrative Katy, Texas's Bowery House and Gardens are located at the intersection of Franz Road and Katy Fort Bend Road, in the city's historic district. As a legacy for his family, the original owner planted oak trees throughout the property, with seven of them planted in a row facing Franz Road on the west side. Eventually, his grandson inherited the land, and he refused to sell it when the property was zoned for commercial use because he was concerned that the oaks would be destroyed to make way for a development. When we approached the grandson about purchasing the parcel of land, we assured him that it was the oak trees that made the property so appealing to us. He agreed to sell on the condition that the oaks would be left in their original location. When it came to commercially developing the land, we considered a number of different options. The Bowery House and Gardens at 7 Oaks came to fruition as a result of combining our personal event planning expertise with the picturesque setting of the property. The venue and surrounding gardens have far exceeded our expectations in every respect. The beauty and historic tranquility of 7 Oaks have brought us great joy, and we are delighted to share it with our friends, neighbors, and guests. Special Occasions Among the many types of events that the Bowery House and Gardens caters to are Quinceaneras, family reunions, recitals, fundraisers, corporate and community gatherings, among others. Because we have multiple indoor spaces, we can accommodate up to 600 people on all three floors if we use all of them together.   The Goldbergs are our surnames. Our family came together in the spring of 2016 to develop this venue with the goal of providing a calm setting for the most wonderful occasions. The structures were framed by brothers. The stained glass was produced by grandparents. Interior touches were put together by siblings, cousins, uncles, significant others, and friends to help bring this idea to life. We believe that the joy you experience with the people you love should be the focus of any celebration, so we're here to take care of some of the logistics. Stillwater Meadow is a wonderful event site in Aledo, Texas, called after the property's delightful pond and lovely meadow. For any wedding party to enjoy, our large site has a gorgeous wedding chapel, a tastefully fitted reception hall, and separate get-ready spaces. Wedding weekends are held at Stillwater Meadow, which provides an idyllic location. All rental packages include full access to a storage area stocked with decor for your usage. The Bridal House features a kitchen, mirrored salon, and expansive front and back porches. The Groom's Retreat is housed in a 1905 barn that has been refurbished. It has a calm ambiance as well as a patio space. Stained glass, mosaic windows, and antique pews adorn our Chapel. This medieval setting is enhanced by an ancient bronze bell and other wooden decorations. The sides of the chapel open up to provide the scenery of being outdoors with the comfort of being indoors for those who prefer to stage an outdoor ceremony. On-site, an antique rowboat can be taken out on the lake for unusual wedding picture options. The two-story Reception Hall, with its warm and inviting structure, can comfortably host up to 250 people. Exposed wooden beams contrast with large chandeliers, which give a warm warmth throughout the space. This room is adaptable for event plans, allowing couples to create their own seating plan. Within this room, string lights hang from the mezzanine level, creating a lovely ambience for stunning reception events. All four buildings are climate-controlled, allowing couples to use them year-round and customize the temperature to their liking. We have a close relationship with an AirBnB on the property that sleeps 16 people and makes for the ideal after-party location. Our site is convenient to modern conveniences while still providing a serene backdrop for memorable gatherings.
