Your rental fee includes everything from set up and breakdown of the event to tables and chairs, as well as detailed planning by our attentive staff. In addition to being an excellent location for a waterfront wedding, this venue can accommodate up to 400 guests indoors and outdoors.   Wedding ceremonies, receptions, parties, and seminars can be held in the Athenaeum in a dramatic and unique setting that can be tailored to your individual needs. Upstairs galleries may accommodate up to 125 guests standing or 80 guests seated at tables. For a ceremony, the delightful courtyard offers a lovely outdoor location for up to 50 people to stand or sit. The Athenaeum structure and courtyard are included in all of our rentals. ​As always, we will be pleased to discuss your specific needs. Rental requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Viewings of the Athenaeum can be arranged in advance or during gallery hours. The gallery is open from noon to four on Thursday through Sunday. On holidays, the Athenaeum is closed. Membership of the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Association at the Supporter level ($100) or higher is required to rent out the Athenaeum. The Rules and Regulations for Renting the Athenaeum, the Release of Liability for Renting the Athenaeum, and an event information form must all be read and signed by the renter. The return of a completed contract, a 50% payment, and a $750 refundable security deposit completes a reservation.

Room dividers can separate the main hall and booth section. The main hall and patio can accommodate more guests in cocktail-style layouts; capacity, privacy, weather arrangements, and buyout options are confirmed for each event. Room capacities should not be added together without an approved layout. Each event receives a custom proposal. Prices and food-and-beverage minimums vary by month, season, day, time, space, duration, and guest count. Weekend and prime-time room bookings and buyouts require a minimum spend confirmed in writing. Beverages, a 20% service charge, and applicable taxes are additional to food-package pricing. We also offer family-style, food-only drop-off catering for 20–119 guests in Leesburg and throughout Loudoun, Fairfax, and Arlington counties in Virginia.
