The renovation of the building proceeded as planned, with funds raised through private contributions solicited by the committee's members. Upon completion, an item titled "Upperville's Latest Community Project is Brought to a Close" ran in the Fauquier Times-Democrat on November 5, 1942, with the headline "Upperville's Latest Community Project is Brought to a Close." According to the report, "the building will be available for use by churches, humanitarian organizations, the Red Cross, and the Boy Scouts at no cost." For dances and private gatherings, there will be a little cost levied. Additionally, in the event that Washington is evacuated, the hall will be required for hospital or canteen operations."
