Located at 1905 West Airline Highway in LaPlace — just 15 minutes from the New Orleans International Airport and 30 minutes from downtown — the venue sits in a convenient position between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. The building makes a strong first impression: luminous white archways, stately columns, and a lobby with sky-high ceilings and a gracious fireplace set the tone. The Grand Ballroom features glittering chandeliers and exposed beam ceilings, while a Grand Foyer with a baby grand piano and a French Quarter-style courtyard provides space for cocktail receptions. An on-site chapel accommodates ceremonies before guests move to the reception hall. A dedicated bridal suite is also available. Overlooking the Big Bayou Black in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, the property is shaded by centuries-old live oak trees and carries a history stretching back to a Spanish land grant given to the Martin family in the 1800s — land that later became part of the storied Southdown Plantation. The estate offers three rooms in the main house and a private cottage, each furnished with antiques and period pieces and including a gourmet Southern breakfast served in the formal dining room. Banquet rooms accommodate meetings, showers, receptions, and gatherings of any size, and the grounds are suited to barn weddings, family reunions, and company picnics alongside the plantation's signature tours of its working cane fields and natural surroundings.
