As a result of our desire to be closer to our children and grandkids, we closed the doors of our long-standing San Antonio-based business, Steve Heflin Architect/Builder (www.steveheflinhomes.com), and relocated to the Ft Worth region in 2011. The idea of a commercial venture that would bring together our talents in design, construction, décor, and hospitality sparked our imaginations, and we began daydreaming and planning for it. Our 35 years of marriage, combined with a sprinkling of supernatural guidance, may have prompted the notion of developing a wedding/event venue that was distinct in both style and beauty for our clients. We discovered a 21-acre farm just outside of historic Weatherford, TX, while searching the Fort Worth countryside. Beautiful trees, natural springs, and pasture area are all part of this estate, which has been in the family for 115 years. We began collecting architectural elements such as 300+ year old doors, gables, mirrors, tables, rustic wagons, gates, and benches from Texas and Santa Fe, using the same expertise and attention to detail Steve used in designing beautiful custom homes. These elements will be used in both a Country Chapel and an Event Center, which will be completed in 2018. This is where the journey begins! Construction began when the land was purchased, the move was completed, the designs were drafted, and the road was built. The Brooks at Weatherford, a new community in Weatherford, is taking shape one step at a time. Even as we cherish the opportunity to be near to our children and grandchildren, we are reminded and assured that marriage is worth the effort of remaining together and, more importantly, worth celebrating. Moon River Ranch sits on 550 acres along the Brazos River near Waco, Texas, operating as the only wildlife ranch in the state that functions as both an animal sanctuary and a river preserve. Celebrate your big day in the historic Frisco Heritage Village in North Texas' Frisco, Texas. Let's get started on your trip together. It is customary to do your wedding rehearsal at the Chapel the night before your wedding day. Your big day has finally arrived, and it is customary for everyone in the wedding party to gather at the Crozier Bridal House to begin the festivities. It consists of the full downstairs bridal suite, as well as the kitchen, baths, living room, and dining area. There is plenty of space for a luncheon, dressing and cosmetics, as well as gathering places for your personal family members. Upon arrival at the Chapel, the bridal party is taken to the altar. The ceremony will commence shortly after. The priest, the bride, and the groomsmen make their way to the front of the Chapel. Following that, the bridesmaids, ring bearer, and flower girl enter via the front door. It has now come to your turn. For the bride and her escort to proceed down the aisle, we open the double doors to the reception hall. You and your partner depart the church as we manually ring the chapel bell to let everyone know that you and your partner are now officially married!! A variety of interior and outdoor photographs are taken on our grounds, capturing beautiful memories. Following the ceremony, your guests will go three doors down the street, past the light-trimmed residences. Depending on the number of guests and the sort of wedding, you can choose from a variety of reception venues. In addition to the dancing floor, a permanent sound system/projector and screen as well as tables and chairs are provided in the Depot. The Smith Muse House is a modest venue for intimate wedding celebrations. Tables and chairs are included in the price. Our third reception location, located upstairs in the Museum, can accommodate up to 75 guests. It features tables and seats, as well as a sound system and projector, as well as a baby grand piano.
