Lakeside Park Club has anchored its corner of Richmond, Virginia since 1896, when philanthropist Lewis Ginter first developed the property as a public park with a clubhouse, boathouses, a pavilion, and even a zoological garden. Today it operates as a private club built around a 1920s Donald Ross golf course design, a traditional links-style layout that borders the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens along the lake that gives the club its name. For weddings, galas, and private events, the club offers three spaces suited to different gatherings. The Ballroom, the largest, seats up to 180 guests for a plated dinner or up to 200 for a cocktail-style reception, making it the venue's primary space for weddings and large celebrations. The Terrace Room accommodates up to 75 seated guests or 100 for a reception, a fit for mid-sized gatherings, while the Lakeside Room offers a more intimate setting with lake views and seating for up to 25, suited to board meetings or smaller private gatherings. Beyond its event spaces, the club's grounds include three clay tennis courts, a hard-surface court, four pickleball courts, and a junior-Olympic pool with its own poolside bar, amenities available to members and their guests alongside golf and private events.

Set on 10 wooded acres in the Fine Creek Mills Historic District of Powhatan, Virginia, The Mill at Fine Creek centers on the ruins of a historic gristmill and the old miller's cottage along Fine Creek. Family-owned and operated since it opened in July 2004, the venue is roughly 35 minutes from Richmond and an hour from Charlottesville. Couples choose from three ceremony sites on the grounds — the original 1700s millstone ruins, a handcrafted pergola, and a creekside spot — along with two getting-ready spaces: a salon-inspired suite with styling stations and full-length mirrors, and the Miller's Cottage, furnished with a full kitchen, living area, and bedroom. The reception venue is built around a wraparound deck and a dance floor equipped with a professional audio system, accommodating up to 150 guests for a seated meal or 225 for a cocktail reception. The Mill's culinary team prepares menus from scratch, working one-on-one with couples on family recipes, new dishes, and dietary needs. The property also includes 13 artisan-crafted guest cottages for overnight visitors, along with Fine Creek Provisions, an on-site general store and café, and Fine Creek Brewing Company, a farmhouse brewery available for rehearsal dinners and day-after brunch.

The park offers eight picnic shelters for reservation: seven standard shelters that each accommodate up to 25 guests, and one larger shelter that accommodates up to 60 guests, making it suited to gatherings ranging from small picnics to larger outdoor get-togethers.
