Built for textile magnate and Rhode Island Governor Henry Lippitt, the house features an elaborate dining room ceiling and other high-style Victorian details throughout its first-floor rooms. Beyond its museum tours, the mansion is available for rental for parties, photography and film, and corporate or non-profit meetings, with grounds that include an operational 1873 fountain. Rental packages give guests access to six first-floor rooms and the grounds, along with the free use of banquet tables, chairs, and a Steinway baby grand piano, all included with the space rather than sourced separately. Guided tours of the museum run year-round, including monthly First Thursday evening tours, giving visitors a window into the Lippitt family's history alongside stories of 19th-century immigration, women's suffrage advocacy, and Deaf education tied to the house.

Set across 240 scenic acres along the Quinebaug River in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, Old Sturbridge Village is the largest outdoor history museum in the Northeast. The Village recreates a rural New England community from the early 1800s, with more than 40 historic buildings — including homes, farms, mills, shops, and meetinghouses — connected by dirt roads and pathways that provide a wholly immersive backdrop for gatherings. Founded in 1946, the museum grew from industrialist Albert B. Wells's collection of 19th-century antiques and tools. Costumed interpreters demonstrate period crafts and trades throughout the grounds, giving events here a sense of living history unavailable at most venues. The Village offers the 300-seat Brewer Theater for performances, lectures, and multimedia presentations, and a Museum Education Center for hands-on programming. On-site dining is available at the Bullard Tavern, a 19th-century-style gathering space, and the Ox & Yoke Café. Historic accommodations are available nearby at the Oliver Wight House, a ten-room property built in 1789 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
