Founded in Seattle in 1892, the Swedish Club has grown from modest beginnings to become a prominent presence in the Pacific Northwest community. Membership consists not only of Scandinavians, but people of many cultural backgrounds. The Swedish Club is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with the objective of promoting a better understanding between the United States and the Scandinavian countries, through learning about, practicing and celebrating the culture and traditions of Scandinavia, with an emphasis on Sweden. Completed in 1961, the current building overlooks beautiful Lake Union and downtown Seattle, and is ideally located just a few minutes north of downtown Seattle. It serves its members as well as visitors and guests from other parts of the United States and Scandinavia. Among our several prominent visitors over the years has been the Swedish King, Carl XVI Gustaf. The Club hosts a variety of educational and cultural events and celebrates traditional Swedish and American holidays.

The Chateau Lill is widely regarded as the best event venue in the Woodinville area. With a property that is 10 acres in size and boasts immaculate grounds, including lush rolling lawns, ponds, and a small farm that is surrounded by tall fir trees. The actual chateau has a room called the Barrel Room and a room called the Grand Room. During the peak summer season, there is also a tented open-air terrace outside. Other concealed enclaves can be discovered in the upper lawn, the vineyard lawn, high up in the chateau tower, or at the popular gazebo that is tucked away next to our picturesque pond. It takes only twenty-five minutes to get to the heart of Seattle from Chateau Lill, fifteen minutes to get to Bellevue, and ten minutes to get to Redmond. There are a number of hotels in both Bellevue and Redmond that come highly recommended by our team. There are over 130 wineries, breweries, and distilleries dotted across the landscape of Woodinville, all of which are located within a radius of five miles of Chateau Lill. PJ Hummel and Company’s World Headquarters is a repurposed century-old factory located in the transportation hub of Tacoma known as the Dome District. The venue, Tin Can Alley, is a facility for human connectivity as well as celebration of art, culture, tourism and business. Constructed in 1919 as a factory to house Tacoma Can Company, the unique building features vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, and a delightful combination of contemporary and rustic accents laced throughout.
