  The Ostreum is a Roman amphitheatre built in the first century AD. Weddings and special events are now being hosted at the venue, which opened its doors in June. Located in Fort Worth, Texas, The Ostreum is the second venue owned and operated by Lynsie Blau. It is the sister (not the twin) of BRIK Venue. Ostreum is the latin word for oyster, and it also the name of the city in which it is situated.   The Queen Anne Victorian home that was built in 1899 and is known as the Ball-Eddleman-McFarland House is considered to be the most preserved of its kind in the region. This exquisite Victorian masterpiece of a little over 5,000 square feet was constructed by English architect Howard Messer for Galveston widow Mrs. George Ball (Sarah) and her son Frank in 1899. The home was built high on a hill overlooking the Trinity River. At a time when the typical cost of a dwelling was between $2,000 and $4,000, the construction of the house came to $38,000. The house has had just three different families live in it over its entire existence, and it has seen very few changes since it was first built. There are towers, gables, copper finials, a slate tile roof, and a porch made of red sandstone and marble on the late Victorian facade. The elegant interior has its original wood mantles, cornices, paneling, coffered ceilings, and parquet flooring. The McFarland House was declared as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1979, as well as Fort Worth's second Historic and Cultural Landmark in 1980. In 1979, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places, and in 1980, it was certified as such by the state of Texas.

At The Heirloom Hideaway, you won't find a more perfect setting for commemorating your elopement, micro-wedding and reception, or special event with your closest loved ones. Since three generations ago, our family has made use of this teeny-tiny piece of Texas, sometimes known as paradise. In the beginning, it was our grandfather's small 80-acre "place in the country," which he used to enjoy the outdoors on by hunting, fishing, and simply taking in the scenery. Although he did not cultivate vegetables or raise poultry here, he did have a horse for the grandkids to ride, several cows (mainly as pets), and a Brahma Bull named Baby. He referred to this place as his "farm" (his biggest pet of all). Our parents built the home as well as the movie theater, which is now known as The Ruby Chapel, in the early 1990s, and it served as their Texas residence for the subsequent 20 years. As they became older, they "downsized" the land until it was ultimately reduced to the current size of 7 acres.
