  In 1947 Italian born Arcito Castellucci married Sophia Zavanlagos, a girl from Sparta, Greece. Shortly after their youngest and only son, Federico II was born. As a young immigrant family with a strong entreprenuerial spirit, they opened a little restaurant in Pawtucket, Rhode Island called Archie’s Tavern. Sophia had grown up in the restaurant business and knew it well. Arcito had the cooking ability and the personal touch with the guests, and thus the original seed of Sugo was sewn. Even as a young child, Federico II, worked alongside his father at Archie’s learning the ins and outs of the restaurant business. Not too long after Federico started his own family, he found himself moving down to Atlanta to open a new restaurant with his wife and children called Sugo. An inspiring blend of unique family style dishes and sincere hospitality with an absolute dedication to sourcing the best local and sustainable ingredients, Sugo is a tribute to those who came before us. Now Sugo is in the hands of the next generation. Beginning on June 24th, our dining room will be open for a limited number of people. As before, we shall adhere to the distance requirements and continue to cover our faces and hands as necessary. Every day, we check our employees, and we have also installed six plasma cooling generators in all of our HVAC units, which kill any airborne viruses, germs, and mold as they pass through the system. We simply have two questions: Please stay at home and try again another day if you are not feeling 100 percent. We have no intention of leaving the country. 2. Don't forget to bring a mask. Now celebrating its 12th season, the farm was designed from the ground up to host weddings in a setting that is rustic, beautiful, and functional. The main structure is an all-wood barn with 7,000 square feet of cement floor, heated and air-conditioned throughout, with attached pavilions, a breezeway, and shed porches that allow guests to move freely under shelter. Exposed rafters, rough-sawn wood walls, lantern lighting, a stack stone fireplace, and an antique buckboard wagon give the space its distinctive character. Outside, pristine meadows, a spring-fed pond with a lighted fountain, and views of the North Georgia mountains provide the backdrop for ceremonies at three dedicated sites: The Meadow, The East Lawn, and The Fireplace Room. Packages at Ross Farm include use of the Bridal Cabin — a fully appointed dressing suite with a sleeping loft, kitchenette, and two bathrooms — along with a climate-controlled Groom's Quarters.   Meadowlark 1939, a historic estate 50 minutes south of Atlanta and steeped in history, is a reminiscence of English-inspired gardens combined with the warmth and welcome of southern charm. With crawling ivy, magnolia trees, statues and statuettes, clear lakes, and walkways to meander, we've created an environment where significant moments and connections can flourish! The journey begins with a site visit, during which you will be able to appreciate the beauty and heart of Meadowlark 1939 and her caretakers. We guarantee that from the moment you set foot on the site, you will "feel" the beautiful wedding setting of your dreams. Meadowlark Garden consisted of a total of seven acres of old formal gardens, which were set inside a 400-acre conservation area. The ancient property, which was built in 1883, has 2,200 square feet of furnished area for preparations and storage. Our 150-year-old Pecan tree provides a gorgeous backdrop for any event, and the site can accommodate up to 300 guests depending on the configuration of your event. There are a variety of ceremony and reception sites available on the property. Ingram family has owned this historically historic property since it was purchased in 1939, when they purchased the original farmhouse built in 1891, which is now a museum. When Frank Ingram and his wife, Rhoda Hopson Ingram, bought the ancient farmhouse, they immediately started renovating it and planting flowers in it. Rhoda Hopson had a genuine passion for gardening, and she imagined walkways and allees that would meander through pleasant garden rooms, which she saw come to fruition throughout her life. A number of years later, her grandson Jay Averett, together with the property's caretakers, AP and Alea Moore, revived the gorgeous property as Meadowlark 1939, bringing it back to life.
