  Building the first component of what would eventually become Naylor Hall for H.W. Proudfoot and his wife, Euphemia, in the 1840s, Barrington King designed it as a four-room clapboard house with a central fireplace, which was later expanded. Mr. Proudfoot was engaged as an accountant by Mr. King, the son of the city of Roswell's founder, in his recently constructed Roswell Mills facility. Colonel Harrison Broadwell acquired the property in the late 1930s and renamed it Naylor Hall in honor of his wife's family, which is still the name of the building today. Aside from that, he made a number of changes that may still be seen today, including the columns, carved woodwork, and a portico that wraps around the original structure. Naylor Hall is still making history today, well into the twenty-first century, with each and every event that takes place on Canton Street. Lady Naylor Hall, who is 170 years old and a southern beauty, has had her tummy tucked and her thighs tucked in order to greet the millennium.   Events are once again in full swing, and everyone — from CEOs to brides — is ready to celebrate. While we were immersed in the virtual world, new event spaces in Atlanta opened their doors to provide us with new opportunities to come together to celebrate and perhaps even share hugs. Here are three of our favorite new venues for hosting corporate and social events alike, all of which have recently opened their doors. Guardian Works is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the public from harm. What it is is as follows: Guardian Works at Echo Street West is a 19-acre development on the Atlanta BeltLine's Westside Trail that is operated by Novare Events and is home to a variety of events. Condos, a hotel, offices, and other amenities are also available on the property. It has a rustic feel to it, but it also has high-end amenities. This mixed-use development has it all, which is why we love it! The Guardian Works event space, with its renovated brick-and-beam structure and double-height interior, is also a hit with attendees. The 1908 building, which has 8,000 square feet of interior space, also has 4,000 square feet of covered patio space and a 10,000-square-foot courtyard, among other amenities. It's not difficult to see that the possibilities for events are virtually limitless. The number of guests who will be accommodated is: Guardian Works at Echo Street West has a capacity of up to 1,200 guests and offers a variety of different space options. Bishop Station is a station in the city of Bishop, in the province of Durham. What it is: Bishop Station is a new venue operated by Novare Events that opened its doors recently. It is centrally located in Midtown, making it accessible to many parts of the city while remaining away from major thoroughfares, giving it a sense of seclusion. Built in the 1920s as a Gulf Oil Company building, it features original design elements that have been updated with modern amenities. What we like about it: The combination of the old and the new in this industrial space is a visual treat to behold. Antique brick walls enclose a 3,600-square-foot main event space that includes hardwood chevron flooring, a curved pine ceiling, and eye-catching iron chandeliers, among other amenities. During the day, the venue's massive windows along the perimeter let in plenty of natural light, while in the evening, the venue provides spectacular views of Midtown and Downtown Atlanta's skylines. It is possible to double the square footage of event space by adding two additional levels. Additional features include a furnished lounge, a built-in bar, and a spacious outdoor courtyard. Bishop Station can accommodate up to 300 guests in its interior space of 7,200 square feet and a generous outdoor courtyard.

  The William Root House is a historic wedding location in downtown Marietta, Georgia. The house was erected in 1845 by Hannah and William Root, who were among the first to establish Marietta. Today, the property serves as a museum and a private event venue, complete with magnificent grounds. The mansion and grounds have been meticulously restored, making it suitable for rustic wedding ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, showers, and other events. The town square is located next to the Marietta Square Market and can be accessed on foot in five minutes. Atlanta and Hartsfield-Atlanta International Airport are also around a 30-minute drive away. Indoor and outdoor event areas are available at the William Root House. The courtyard is a multi-purpose facility surrounded by well-kept vegetation. The courtyard can seat up to 70 people for a seated meal and up to 150 people for a ceremony or cocktail hour. The location has a lovely inside room with seats for up to 24 guests for smaller, more intimate occasions. A vaulted ceiling, white shiplap walls, raw wood floors, and a kitchen with marble countertops and a log cabin accent wall characterize the space. The William Root House crew is dedicated to making you and your guests feel at ease. While you celebrate your special day, the museum and exhibits can be made available for your guests to enjoy. Venue workers can assist with setup and cleaning of your event in collaboration with your caterer or event planner. If needed, tables and chairs are provided. For the comfort of your guests, the location also provides enough parking.

  Southern Bridle Farms is a wedding and event venue set on a quiet country property near Perry, Georgia, accessible off Highway 96 just three miles from Interstate 75. Founded in 2012 by two families who set out to build the space they couldn't find elsewhere, the property was designed from the ground up to accommodate gatherings of virtually any size under one roof. The centerpiece of the farm is The Cedar Barn — a 10,000-square-foot structure built in the tradition of old Southern barn design using hand-selected cedar and pine logged and milled locally. Inside, 36-foot ceilings rise above 8x8 support beams, three grand chandeliers, and large sliding barn doors that open onto the surrounding grounds. The barn accommodates 500 or more guests for receptions and large celebrations. The outdoor grounds include a covered ceremony chapel with an arbor entrance, a stacked stone fireplace anchoring a cocktail area, and a Cyprus Bridal Cottage with a kitchenette, bathroom, sitting area, and vanity.
