    • Spaces for 800 Guests

Hilton Vancouver Washington sits in the heart of downtown Vancouver, directly across the street from Esther Short Park, with the Vancouver Waterfront's shops, restaurants, and pier a nine-minute walk away and Portland International Airport about 15 minutes by car. The hotel offers 30,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space spread across 21 rooms, including two main ballrooms with 18-foot ceilings that can be divided into a variety of configurations, plus nine additional meeting spaces that hold up to 100 guests each. Smaller meeting rooms on the second floor bring in natural light through floor-to-ceiling windows, well suited to more intimate gatherings. On site, guests and event attendees can also visit Grays, a sustainably minded restaurant and bar serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner with locally sourced ingredients, along with Esther's Coffee and Espresso Bar. The hotel also features an indoor pool, fitness center, and on-site parking.

  • Whatcom Museum

Lightcatcher, 250 Flora Street;, Old City Hall, 121 Prospect Street, Bellingham, WA 98225, United States
    • Spaces for 150 Guests

Two very different buildings anchor the Whatcom Museum's event program: a Victorian-era city hall from 1892 and a contemporary gallery wrapped in glass. Weddings, corporate celebrations, and musical performances all find a home somewhere between the two campuses in Bellingham, Washington. Old City Hall brings a grand staircase, a clock tower, and Victorian architectural details to the experience, with its Rotunda Room prized for exceptional acoustics and a piano that suits intimate ceremonies and receptions built around live music. Across town, the Lightcatcher building takes a different approach entirely — a translucent wall rising 37 feet high and running 180 feet long floods the entry hall with natural daylight, and both that entry hall and the adjoining courtyard double as performance and reception space, indoor and outdoor options included. Since 1941, the museum has built out educational programs alongside a permanent collection of nearly 30,000 art and history objects and more than 200,000 images in its photo archives, with a particular strength in Pacific Northwest indigenous basketry. That mix of Victorian landmark, modern architecture, and museum-grade collections gives event hosts a setting that reads as considerably more than a rented hall.

The Cedar River Watershed Education Center sits above the shores of Rattlesnake Lake in the Cascade foothills, on the historic site of the old Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railway's Cedar Falls camp. Operated by Seattle Public Utilities, the Center serves as a gateway to the Cedar River Municipal Watershed, the source of drinking water for 70 percent of the 1.6 million people in the greater Seattle area. The Center is made up of five buildings connected by covered walkways topped with living roofs, designed by Seattle architects Jones & Jones with sustainable materials throughout — 98 percent of the wood used meets LEED standards for sustainable harvest, and the outdoor decking and benches are built from Smart Deck, a composite of recycled plastic and wood. In the Forest Court, native plantings tie the buildings into the surrounding forest, and a series of water drums — commissioned from artist Dan Corson through Seattle's 1% for Art program — release a rhythm of water droplets via a computerized irrigation system, audible from dawn to dusk. Inside, free hands-on exhibits trace the region's water cycle, forests, and wildlife for visitors of all ages, with groups of ten or more asked to reserve ahead.

The ballroom, mezzanine, and balcony together hold up to 240 guests, with roughly 100 to 150 seated comfortably across the two levels, or as many as 200 in theater-style seating without tables. Arriving at the Kittitas Valley Event Center, a visitor first notices the mix of restored, century-old buildings and open western-town charm spread across the Kittitas County Fairgrounds in Ellensburg. The grounds trace back to 1885, when the first county fair was held, and took their permanent shape in 1923 when the rodeo arena and original buildings went up; a $3.5 million historic renovation completed in 2001 preserved that character, and the Fairgrounds Historic District is now listed on both the Washington State and National Registers of Historic Places. Guests moving through the property find a range of spaces built for different kinds of gatherings: the newly remodeled Armory Main Hall with its built-in audio and video equipment and three adjacent break-out rooms, the Manastash Room and Heritage Center with a wall of historic Kittitas Valley photographs, the twin Teanaway and Umtanum Halls with commercial kitchens and roll-up doors for easy haul-in, and Western Village, a cluster of buildings fashioned after 1890s western towns with a dance hall, bar, kitchen, and five small shops. The Gold Buckle Room looks out over the Rodeo Arena, home to the Ellensburg Rodeo and its seating for more than 9,000 patrons. Outdoors, the Gazebo and Frontier Village add space for gatherings that spill outside, while Bloom Pavilion and the historic barns and stalls accommodate equine and livestock events alongside trade shows and exhibits.
