David Bouley was born and reared in the Connecticut town of Storrs. David's childhood spent on his grandparents' farm had a profound influence on him. Inspired by their French ancestors, he acquired a passion for preparing nutritious meals from scratch using well selected, freshly prepared components. David began working in restaurants at a young age, and has since lived on Cape Cod, in Sante Fe, and in France and Switzerland, among other places. His experience working with some of Europe's most recognized chefs, such as Roger Vergé, Paul Bocuse, Joel Robuchon, Gaston Lenôtre and Frédy Giradet, followed his studies at the Sorbonne University. After gaining valuable expertise, David went on to work in some of New York's most prestigious restaurants at the time, including Le Cirque, Le Périgord, and La Côte Basque, among others. He also worked as a sous chef in a San Francisco restaurant owned by Roger Vergé for a short period of time. David went on to become the chef of the Montrachet restaurant in TriBeCa when it first opened its doors in 1985. The New York Times published a three-star review of the restaurant shortly after it opened, attracting widespread notice. Private Dining Events and Catering provide us with opportunity to collaborate more intimately with our guests, as well as possibilities to share our passion for celebration in innovative and exciting new ways. As a result, when people taste the food that we have prepared, they can tell that it has been prepared with a lot of love. This is also reflected in the way we conduct our catering and private dining operations. All of our guests—new and returning—will hopefully have the opportunity to enjoy these experiences in the future, and I hope that they will continue to challenge and inspire us in the meanwhile. That is what motivates us to keep pushing forward.

ABOUT A transportative Mediterranean getaway in the midst of Soho, Pera Soho is a must-visit. Inspired by the renowned Istanbul neighborhood where cuisine, art, culture, nightlife and the cosmopolitan converge, Pera SoHo seduces with an environment that is simultaneously warm and vibrant. Take a journey through mouthwatering, re-imagined, shareable plates, or let our kitchen delight your taste buds with a tightly curated selection of composed mezes and main courses. As part of its culinary philosophy, Pera Soho seeks to go beyond the current day geographical limits of the Eastern Mediterranean in order to embrace the region's rich culinary and cultural diversity as a whole. While presenting original recipes in a modern setting, Pera Soho's food also highlights the use of Eastern Mediterranean ingredients and cooking methods to produce its own unique dishes, in addition to the presentation of authentic recipes. To achieve the flavors that our visitors will appreciate and keep coming back for, Pera Soho thinks that simple recipes using fresh, high-quality ingredients, combined with loving and consistent execution, are required. Additionally, Pera Soho has a unique configuration that includes indoor open dining and private dining areas, outside garden open dining and private outdoor dining areas, as well as a heated Winter Terrace to ensure that our guests can enjoy the outdoors no matter what the weather is like. Pera Mediterranean Brasserie in Midtown Manhattan is the exquisite and ethereal older sister of Pera Soho, whereas Pera Soho is the adventurous, bubbly younger sister of Pera Mediterranean Brasserie. The neighborhoods of New York, where each has its own particular character and set of expectations, mix in with their surroundings. Aside from the dishes, beverages and wines that share the same philosophy, but are unique to each location, what really differentiates the locations is the clientele’s reasons for being there. It is typically business in Midtown, however in Soho, it is always a celebration, no matter how basic or sophisticated, and no matter how small or enormous the gathering may be. At Pera Soho, the hustle and bustle of the city gives way to the warmth, comfort, and conviviality that is the trademark of the Mediterranean lifestyle. Allow yourself to be spoiled by the delicious cuisine and joyful love for the outdoors that are the hallmarks of the Mediterranean experience.

47 Bond St, New York, NY 10012, USA
    • Spaces for 70 Guests

Enjoy a meal with us in New York City, Amagansett, or Ibiza, and browse through our Mediterranean pantry and home collection. When il Buco first opened its doors in 1994 as a rustic antique store on NoHo's cobblestoned Bond Street, the restaurant quickly rose to become one of the city's most beloved destinations. Donna Lennard and her then-partner, Italian-born restaurateur Alberto Avalle, were pioneers on Bond Street when they invited their antique customers to join them for their midday "pranzo" before obtaining a wine and beer license and developing an eclectic Mediterranean menu that was equal parts Italian, Spanish, and invention, and dedicated to sourcing the finest prime ingredients both locally and in Avalle's home country of Italy. The culinary philosophy of il Buco is firmly rooted in the Italian tradition of seasonality and the integrity of all of the ingredients used in the restaurant. Our cuisine is influenced by both the motherland of Italy and the Iberian Peninsula. We spend a significant amount of time sourcing ingredients and take great pleasure in working with our producers to ensure that you receive the highest quality product possible. What we can't find locally, we source in Italy through a network of family and friends that we've built up over the course of a lifetime of traveling.

The Fulton is a one-of-a-kind venue for your private event, with indoor and outdoor riverfront dining with views of the Brooklyn Bridge. The Fulton is Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten's first seafood restaurant, and it's in an area of town where he fell in love with the vibrancy of the former Fulton Fish Market in 1986. The menu, which pays homage to The Seaport's past, focuses on the best ingredients and the abundance of the sea and beyond. Vongerichten has created a devoted following of diners who follow him across the world for four decades. ABC Kitchen, abcV, and Public Kitchen in New York, Market in Paris, and Mercato in Shanghai and Guangzhou are among the chef's 36 (and counting) restaurants. The Seaport's unique nautical heritage has been woven into the textures of The Fulton, which Vongerichten and interior designers Yabu Pushelberg have created as a venue to link New Yorkers and visitors with the city's maritime past. The restaurant's main dining floor is encircled by hand-painted murals by painters Diego Castao and Chandler Noah. The work, titled "South of Cape Horn" and inspired by Jules Verne's Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, relates the narrative of explorers who embark on a chance expedition in quest of a rumored sea monster. The restaurant's waterfront location provides a unique New York dining experience, complete with patio seating and some of the best unobstructed views of the Brooklyn Bridge.

    • 1 Landmark

The Merchant's House Museum is New York City's only family home to survive intact — inside and out — from the 19th century. Built in 1832 in the late-Federal and Greek Revival style, the Manhattan rowhouse carries triple landmark designation at the federal, state, and city levels, including National Historic Landmark status since 1966. It was the first building designated under New York City's 1965 Landmarks Preservation Law and remains one of only six residential interior landmarks in the city. The Tredwell family occupied the residence from 1835 until 1933, and more than 3,000 of their original belongings remain in place. The museum is also recognized as Manhattan's only documented site of the Underground Railroad open to the public. For private events, the venue accommodates up to 30 guests for intimate wedding ceremonies, garden elopements, and engagement photography sessions. The 19th-century rear garden serves as the primary ceremony setting; the Greek Revival double parlor and 1850s kitchen provide indoor alternatives when weather requires.
