Bug-Bee Hive Resort is a third-generation, all-season lakeside resort on Lake Koronis in Paynesville, Minnesota, located about 90 minutes west of Minneapolis. The property has been in continuous operation since 1920, when William Bugbee purchased 60 acres along the lake; today, his grandson Paul manages the resort and has expanded it to include upscale vacation homes and a full-service lodge built for weddings, corporate retreats, and family gatherings. Outdoor ceremonies take place on a lakeside beachfront terrace or an oak-tree grove on the bluff overlooking Lake Koronis, accommodating up to 300 seated guests. Prohibition occupies the entire 27th floor of the Foshay Tower in downtown Minneapolis, one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. Nearly a century ago, building owner Wilbur Foshay commissioned the space as his private full-floor retreat; today, following a multi-million-dollar restoration completed in 2025, it operates as a speakeasy-inspired lounge featuring Art Deco design, custom African mahogany paneling, and hidden alcoves.
