Owned by the Town of Darrington and managed by a volunteer Board of Trustees, the center houses a gymnasium, a meeting room, and a full kitchen, and hosts weddings, bridal and baby showers, family reunions, potlucks, tribal meetings, and memorial gatherings alongside the community's regular sporting events. Generations of volunteers have kept the building in service, from new gym flooring and updated electrical and HVAC systems to a modern projection system. In 2017, the Board restored the center's exterior to its original color using footage from the 1980 film "High Ice," which had documented the building's early appearance. The center also serves as a designated Red Cross emergency shelter for the surrounding community.
